I was just thinking that, it's their longest trip of the season an' all.

Yep, better make it all-ticket that one!!!
We only have 3 longer trips than that ourselves and I can see them complaining about that, might be a slight advantage for us because of the timing. The other one is why do we get that hole called Kettering away on a Tuesday night (again) when there's quite a few clubs who are nearer than that who we play at least one game on a Saturday such as Tamworth, Kidderminster, Mansfield etc.

Hmmmm, good opener but disappointed that the Mansfield match is a Tuesday night. It is one of the best grounds we go to and it will be difficult for Barrow based fans and virtually impossible for folk like meself. Went last year and it was one of the highlights of the season.

Also not too keen on Gateshead on New Years Day. It was great last year When we had Wrexham on Boxing Day. Gateshead will bring minimal support for the Boxing Day match.

Still, might take the opportunity of the Bank Holiday in August to come up for the Tamworth match and visit Wrexham on the way back.

I think that will be a 3 o clocker won't it, Bank Holiday Monday? It's a funny year cos Boxing Day is also a Saturday.

I'm quite liking the fixtures as a whole. Looking forward to Cambridge away obviously, but hardly anyone seems to have mentioned Wrexham away, August bank holiday...

I am looking forward to Wrexham. I wonder if there will be any German's there from Hansa Rostock?

Some of us will be at the mercy of BAE for Wrexham in having to apply to bring holidays forward from next years allocation or take unpaid leave as our holidays were changed to end on 31st August 2009 and as a result the reduced allocation means I have no holidays left now and we don't get August Bank Holiday as a holiday.

Are BAE aware that a sudden outbreak of swine flu is predicted to hit Barrow Island on 31st August? :)

Regarding Chester away that's between Xmas and New Year so there should be a lot up for that one (3pm ko?) and their return (or should I say our ex-chairmans return) is gonna put a few hundred on the gate especially with it being Easter Monday.
As there's been a bit of an overhaul at Cambridge, playing them first game of the season could be an advantage for us?
Couldn't have had a worse fixture for last game of the season though. How many Barrovians will be in Newcastle on New Years Eve?

NONE! Everyone's going to Chester on the Monday! :beers:

With us playing our first game at home to Cambridge and our last game away at Histon,I was wondering. Is it some kind of a first that a football team,or any other team has played there First and Last game in a league season in the same city, town etc.Could be a great trivia question.I'll sit back and wait for all the stattos to work it out.Over to you Zak ;)
