Altrincham, Gateshead, Grays, Mansfield, Rushden, Stevenage and ourselves all play in the same town/city on the opening and closing days of the coming season...

It's just that the other 6 are at home for both fixtures.
Ok.

The last game of the 06-07 season and the first game of the 07-08 season were both in Solihull, if that counts.

Just had another look at our fixtures and we've got a few instances of return games being played fairly sharpish after the first fixture, eg:

Mansfield: August 18th - September 29th
Oxford: October 3rd - November 21st.
Grays: October 31st - November 24th

Bit odd, isn't it? :?

Althouth the Football League (and above) fixtures have been worked out by computer for a number of years, those for the Conference are still done by hand, it seems. As a result, a number of teams have found themselves with a blank Saturday during the season.

Overall, we havn't done too badly, although as noted elsewhere on the forum we do start and finish at (or near to) the city of Cambridge.

I can think of worse places to go to for a :beers: or three, though; thankfully, there is only one side in or close to Gateshead!

I would be the one in a Boro shirt anyway.
Hope to be able to make time to get up there. Have a soft spot for Gateshead as well , many years ago Boro bought into the old Gateshead set up and had the pick of the players if anyone good came through. Mind you thats in the late 60`s/70s era.
