Popular Side Car Park

Postby Renfrew Refugee » Mon Jan 18, 2010 2:06 pm

From Brian Keen's Column

In the meantime, we will continue to invest in the areas that will help improve the ground.

Next Monday work will start on the Popular Side car park, to flatten it and make a large space available for fans to park.

We are aware that parking is more of an issue since Asda have restricted matchday parking. So, there will be a good-sized car park ready in place before the next home game.

Isn't this earmarked for the storage of containers? : :?:

I would think there will be plenty of room for both.

For fear of being whoosh'd... the popular side car park actually runs alongside 'The Popular Side', up past the Bluebird I think! The container 'area' is actually within the walls of Holker Street alongside the CrossBar (old 5-a-side pitch?)

Was mentioned at the AGM that the existing area for the containers maybe only temporary till they are moved to a new location which is possibly on the Popular Side car park once the work there has finished, but decision maybe after the feasability study results are known.

Has the feasability study started, John, and do you know the timescales please?

Think I saw it mentioned that it had already started and at the AGM TK said he thought it could take up to 6 months to be completed but recently mentioned that it would likely to be just before or around the end of the season.
