However one thing to bear in mind is that as the hospitality isn't counted and this can distort the gates by quite a lot. Today we had 160 corporates and most of these would have been sat in the Main Stand. I think you can also deduct the 30-40 officials in the directors box as well. The Stand wasn't completely full either as there were spaces in the 'B' and 'W' so at a guess there'd be about 700 in the Stand who paid or were season ticket holders. There were Luton fans in the Holker end so that leaves around 550-600 in the rest of the ground. There may have been some freebies as well which aren't counted. I certainly didn't think the Popular Side was crowded today.
Clearly when we play someone like Grays there were probably only 40 or so in the hospitality and the crowd difference is minimal and maybe not so noticeable.
Regarding the match why didn't we change things earlier than we did and put Powell on as we were very static and predictable and didn't really create an awful lot. How many shots did we have on target? Got to agree with Reg in that we don't create an awful lot going forward.
The annoying thing is that Luton didn't look anything special and its disappointing we conceeded another goal from a corner, wasn't too long back when DB was saying we don't conceed from corners!!!

Nelthorpe wouldn't have been elligible for most of our games in January as he'd have missed some due to the bad weather and also been cup-tied for the Trophy and Lancs Cup matches so that only left Rushden and today he may have played in which was also presumably a consideration.
As LB says he's facing serious charges in court (his case is in the next fortnight I think) and could be facing a custodial sentence or other restrictions if he's found guilty. Would you extend his contract till the end of the season not knowing what hight happen in his court case that could see him unavailable for some time after next weekend?

The game against Kiddy is off as they are playing in the Trophy. If we don't beat Gateshead on Tuesday then I hope we can re-arrange a game for that day. A blank Saturday with a busy March coming up would not be ideal.
AFC Wimbledon away would tick the boxes, they haven't got a game, would save a trip on a Tuesday night, but don't know if they'd be ideal opponents at this time. Anyway, hopefully it'll be York at home that day

Not true. Last season a club in Ryman/Conf South had a player get sent down and his club stopped paying him when he was banged up. The player took the club to court and won because there wasn't anything specific enough in his contract about the reasons for why the club had to stop paying him his contract money.ficklefanhater wrote:so the hospitality crew dont pay a thing and were blind folds?come on tidds stop bum licking i think beter of you than that
Wrong again, the corporates cash is subject to a different level of tax/VAT to what the gate money is, which is why the corporate money is seperate from the gate money or that's how I understand it.

No it isnt. VAT is charged at the same rate (17.5%) on all income the club recieves (except for a small number of things that are zero rated /exempt from VAT - such as raffles, lottery).
