Re: Paul Hornby Interview
Well that was a bizarre listen if ever there was one. He sounded quite smug in his mid-season one following Whing's departure and Galllagher's appointment. It was all stats this, players love him that. Didn't end too well though did it. Not so this time round to be fair. So plenty of lessons to be l...

Re: Charlie McCann
None of the squad came out of that debacle with any credit. But, did you ever watch McCann play, especially in the last dozen or so games, and come away thinking that lad gave everything he's got out there today? Far too many in the self-preservation society and he was amongst the leaders of that pa...

Re: Sam Foley
Do you really think Sam picked the team? Or was he just the front man as the board was too embarrassed to announce another manager in Graham Coughlan? Graham picked the team, Sam was the front man! I honestly think that he did. I could be wrong and you could be right but the club's communication is...

Re: Sam Foley
Great player Foley for us. From his debut away at Stockport which we won 3-2 to his last appearance, ever? But, and it honestly pains me to state, absolutely hopeless at picking a team and making tactical substitutions. Never mind thrown under the bus. Hemmings is most certainly not a league 2 playe...

Re: Barrow v Newport County match thread
The youth set-up needs a separate thread. Back to today's shambolic display please. Is Sam Foley the only guy on the planet who thought starting Hemmings was a good idea? Or did that cardboard cut-out Worrall also agree? What exactly does Worrall do for his money? Maybe another separate thread? The ...

Re: Barrow vs Walsall Match Thread
If Foley isn't injured, and let's face it'd have to be career ending one in this crisis, he's got to get his boots back on. No good having a player of his quality on the sidelines watching. Some pathetic performances out there today but McCann's was possibly the worst. Man of the match? Parents real...

Re: Barrow v Oldham Athletic, match thread
Gordon definitely one of those mysteries inside an enigma kinda players. How did he miss against Barnet? How did score that one last nite? Only man in the ground thinking let's get another straight away! Did he encroach into the Oldham half before the ball was played, did the keepers clearance hit h...

Re: Give 'Em Beans! Match Reports
Fair play to you, good read that. Summarising what we all witnessed last nite, so soon after THE event must've took some discipline and rationale. However, always room for debate. I had a ringside view of that penalty decision and all I can say is I've seen them given. There was contact and certainl...

Re: Barnet v Barrow match thread
If ever there was a game for a Sam Foleyish type player to come on, calm things down and orchestra a draw, or even snatch a win, today was that day. Now, I may have missed something in the goings on at the club regarding availability but, (and could Adam please ask the question), is the actual Sam F...

Re: Barrow v Chesterfield match thread
Getting back to the game, we were beaten by a far better, quicker and more organised side who were wasteful in front of goal the longer the game went on.
Got away with one there imo could and probably should been a much heavier defeat.
We go again Saturday.

Re: Barrow v Chesterfield match thread
Mentioned this previously..and it happened again on my way in to the Chesterfield game so worthy of this section. The stewards on the Holker Street end entrance were questioning a couple of youngsters regarding their age before allowing them in. I didn't go to the Q&A and there's undoubtedly mor...

Re: Seriously how do we stay up ?
Considering the title of this post its certainly gone off on a tangent. Cross that bridge at end of season. Despite them being top it wouldn’t be that mad to turn Bromley over. Beat Walsall and Oldham at home, also not massively beyond the realms. MK and Cambridge we can write off, anything’s a bon...

Re: Seriously how do we stay up ?
The lack of youth teams/reserves is a fair point and yet another decision made at board level that has backfired. Even in the dark days when we were scrapping to even keep our NPL status we had a reserve set-up and a youth team. The lack of connection with the town and local community is pitiful. N...

Re: Seriously how do we stay up ?
I don’t see any evidence that we will start to win all of a sudden but you never know. I suppose the time to debate this season will be when it has all over. However if we do go out of the football league what has the club realistically achieved in the 6 years. Ok the ground is better but still the...

Re: Barrow v Accrington Stanley, match thread
Well perhaps we can console ourselves with the fact that at least this time we will go out on 'merit' (or lack thereof) and not by losing a popularity contest. Having said that there will be a few shocks in store yet possibly culminating in a death-or-glory finale v Newport. What will be, will be. ...
