Meet the Board Night
Re: Meet the Board Night
All excuses will be vetted
I won't be there either
Re: Meet the Board Night
At Blackpool all day Thursday transporting my son and three of his friends to Ramp City for his birthday. Doubt I'll make it home in time for this but would be grateful if anybody could post "goings on" on here afterwards or feel free to PM me or e-mail me. Would like to know the crack as would be there if could.
Only things I would have asked would be about development (again) and more answers not just put offs, as much as we can be told about finances, peoples offer of help that won't/can't be accepted, appointment of a new commercial manager, how long Bayliss has to produce the good so to speak, and basically if any board member could explain why things have been left to go as bad as they are.

Re: Meet the Board Night
I know you would attend Lisa and many would if they could, but I get the impression others on here won't be bothered and will just wait for an update to be posted. If I can be bothered I might post something after the meeting then again....tictactoe wrote:At Blackpool all day Thursday transporting my son and three of his friends to Ramp City for his birthday. On the point about the development bid, TK is attending meetings to try and find out anything he can that will help us with our bid (and that didn't come from him or anyone on the board). As mentioned previously it isn't the club who decide when its announced so I don't understand the constant snipes at the club when its out of their control?

You always do a very good account of what goes on at any meetings John but if people on here who live local & aren't otherwise enganged can't be bothered going to the meeting we're right up shit creek.
Rightly or wrongly people moan day in - day out about the BoD's, both on & off here & if any off the forum members are sat at home by their PC's waiting for an update off you or anyone else on Thursday....let them wait at least till Friday night.
Seriously how can we moan if we don't at least turn up to the meetings they organise? I hate speaking out in a room full of people but I did it at the John Mackay meeting because there was a question I felt I wanted an answer to, if there is something you feel strongly about, turn up & let them know - perhaps PM one of the people on here you feel might ask the question for you but still turn up. Even if the answers aren't what you wanted to hear or even if you feel as though they've fudged a reply at least you've shown you care enough to be there.
What's the point of these meeting's if just the same twenty/thirty people turn up & only get their point of view or questions across when there is a broader view out there?
EVERY BAFC SUPPORTER, not just forum users, should be making an effort to turn up to this meeting especially in what many are seeing as really worrying times for the club.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Meet the Board Night
I can't attend this meeting so I hope people will update site. I don't live in barrow and I'm working on Thursday night in St Helens and I'm afraid i can't rearrange my life with 48 hours notice.

I would love to be there, if anyone fancies paying my diesel for the trip I would love to hear from you?
Travelling the 150 mile round trip 3 times in one week is a bit much at the moment.

OMG this is the seond time in a week a former member of this forum and myself have agreed - we are in troubleThe Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Two days notice is too short. Why no AGM?
The lack of notice for many things is another thing that I'm sure will be mentioned, this evening is one example but shouldn't put the moaners on here from going if possible.
Pretty much agree with everything that spirit of 1990 mention also, its pretty much the same 30 people that turn up for most things. Next week people will be moaning on here about something that gets mentioned at the meeting they couldn't be bothered to attend or take notice of what does get posted on here then they wonder why people have a go at them. Little wonder some of us get fed up of the many forum posters who do this.

Re: Meet the Board Night
Of course it's ridiculously short notice a former member of this forum, no one can argue with that, and symptomatic of the bad organisation just now. It's up to folk how they respond. I think it's really important to go, but each to their own.
No-one is suggesting that folk are going to travel from miles away for this. Might be good if they put their points to folk who are going to go. That's all that was being suggested.
As a support, we can't go on sniping at each other on here and elsewhere.
I think we are really in the shite and all we can do is try to effect some change in the way the club is run on a day to day basis. Personally I would rather try to do that, than bitch at each other and have the only satisfying moment of this season being proved right that everything has imploded.

Re: Meet the Board Night
I'm not doing a 1 hour round trip to listen to people try and paper over cracks and pretend everything is ok when it clearly isn't. The two days notice doesn't help either
Re: Meet the Board Night
Each to their own but I'd love to be home in morecambe and be able to do the 2 hour round trip to attend this, unfortunately I'm working nights in Basingstoke this week.HenneysKnee wrote:I'm not doing a 1 hour round trip
Despite the short notice I think it is important people attend this, it's all well good complaining about the BOD not talking to us but this is the opportunity for them to do so.

Re: Meet the Board Night
By posting I didn't want to start a good fan/bad fan debate because some can attend and some can't, just would appreciate if something could be put on here or sent to me.
Regarding development John, we have been told the same thing for a long time and I just think we could be told a bit more but the board don't want to.
Spirit of 1990 just a query were you the guy that spoke to me at the meeting with John McKay by the stairs? Just to satisfy my curiosity

Re: Meet the Board Night
I wasn't trying to make it sound like a "good fan/bad fan" split, all I was saying was I think it's important that as many as possible get there. Obviously I didn't mean (& I did say in my post) people who are busy/work away or have anything else already planned. I just can't see the point in people moaning but sat at home waiting for John or whoever to post about what went on.............then whinge that this, that or the other never got mentioned.tictactoe wrote:By posting I didn't want to start a good fan/bad fan debate because some can attend and some can't
Don't think so Lisa, I spoke to one or two that night. What was the conversation about? PM if you want.tictactoe wrote:Spirit of 1990 just a query were you the guy that spoke to me at the meeting with John McKay by the stairs? Just to satisfy my curiosity

Then surely that's when you put your hand up and challenge what you're hearing, no?HenneysKnee wrote:I'm not doing a 1 hour round trip to listen to people try and paper over cracks and pretend everything is ok when it clearly isn't.
