Re: New signing
Re: New signing
Two trains of thought for me on this one.
My overwhelming thought is WTF are we doing signing jobbing has been older pro's who can't even make it at a much lower level than us.
My other thought is, do I really give that much of a shit, if all he does is score 1 goal in the last game and that is enough for survival in this league, then it would have been worth it.

Education should be public not private, it should be open, accountable and answerable to all the community, pupils and parents.

Re: New signing
Why don't we sign Wayne Curtis on non contract terms then as he is not registered to anyone and surely must be able to move quicker than McEvilly !!! Tell me if i am wrong but didnt he get the boot from his last club for Racist comments to another player ?? Just what we need !!!

No doubt because Curtis would not play for expenses only!woodley wrote:Why don't we sign Wayne Curtis on non contract terms then as he is not registered to anyone and surely must be able to move quicker than McEvilly !!!
Re: New signing
You can't force players to join you. There have been several Premiership last minute hijackings in the last few days so we are not alone. I reckon one of the defenders was Tom Aldred. Freed by Colchester last week, admired by Bayles, and familiar with our set-up/systems. Quite possible then that we were gazumped by Accy at the last minute for more cash, though god knows how on their gates. As for Lee McEvilly, yes I'm disappointed but who knows. Many thought the same way before he signed the last time but they weren't moaning at Wembley. Who knows apart from Bayles what his fitness levels or state of mind are.He might just surprise us. One thing is I hope the residents of Hindpool have been warned that its not an earthquake at around 4.00 pm tomorrow but a collision between the Big Macs !

Getting away from all this madness for a second. Tom Aldred has signed for Accrington.

Re: New signing
Got to admit my first thought - was I can't believe we're going there again as I didn't think he was good enough three years ago!
Second thought was - If Danny L is going to be our main other striker alongside Boyes which looks to be the case, evil could be just on the bench for when we're chasing a game & if it's correct that he's on next to nowt because we've got next to nowt we've not too much to lose have we?
Imagine tomorrow, 0-0 ten minutes to go & he comes on..... he's certainly going to ruffle a few feathers in that Luton defence isn't he?

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: New signing
I really do hope he does prove everyone wrong. I know we've seen him in the past and know what sort of a player he is, but some of these comments are ridiculous. He's done a job for a team in this league before. Welcome back, big Lee.

To paraphrase a comment made by a Luton fan on their 6-or-so page of threads on McNulty 'He may be a fat **** but he is OUR 'fat ***'. Lets give him a chance . Getting on the backs of our own players is music to opposition ears.
