Well wasn't able to be there, and thank God. Followed the score via sky online, carried on with my sons birthday party after being 1 up. Kept checking and then BOOM! 2-1 DOWN. BALLS!

Massive hammer blow.

We've taken 3 monster hits over the last week, hit the deck, and are nearly Knocked out. We need a Rocky style recovery to get out of this one. Looking bleak. :(
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

We have never made any constructive/game changing substitutions to our benefit as DB can only make like for like substitutions and is unable to alter his team shape or style .
We constantly defend too deep and the so called midfield that DB considered didnt need strengthening in transfer windows are the poorest in this league allowing other teams freedom of the park.
Blaming Hurst is any easy option but the whole blame must be with the management for their preparation, tactics ,team selection, motivation and substitutions which today was all wrong. The body language of team is so wrong
How the BOD can think this is what the paying public want to see is beyond me....the Diehards will still go but im sure they must be getting very despondent now ... i know i am.

Anybody who was around in 1999 will remember that we survived (on points at least) against all the odds, and were in a much deeper hole than we are now. What's more, we did it with a makeshift team that consisted of local kids, a couple of experienced, steady old pros....and a very young Paul Jones, who even as a teenager showed exceptional spirit and devotion to the cause. The difference between then and now is that back then the management team (Shane Westley and John Beck) knew how to get players to play above themselves, grind out results and do the basics right. They certainly weren't pretty to watch, but they got the job done....only for the club to be relegated anyway on financial grounds. The really frustrating thing about the current team is that they have shown on occasion they can grind out results (Luton, Newport) but can't seem to do it on a regular basis.

And that sums it up in two sentences. This team IS good enough BUT they will never be able to show what they can do whilst this management team are in charge.

If the BOD had the courage and took a bold step they could solve the club's problems overnight.

No matter who they put in to take charge - even on a temporary basis - would get better results than the current incumbents who IMO are to blame for the teams's lack of confidence.

What Planet is Bayliss on. On RC he is targeting 50 points (7 wins) as enough. Most teams a winning more regular than us and you would reasonably expect them to win 7 times before tne end of the season which would give them 56 points which means we would need 9 wins + 2 draws to overtake them which leaves Gateshead who have a 3 point and 2 match advantage. Winning 1 of their matches in hand which are at home we would still need 55 points if they also won 7 of their remaining matches of which 12 are at home and 6 away. An impossible task.

Like all Barrow fans Bitterly disappointed.Capitulation with 3 minutes to go for a team in our position is absolutely indefensible! Whoever was on the pitch at the time there are just no excuses whatsoever.Thought we were very poor all day long and shows us why we are in the position we are in.Still find it hard to believe DB comment about having" one of best midfield in this league." Our midfield is one of the poorest i can remember in years and has been the cause of most of our problems for a number of seasons. Not so much a smash and grab raid by Nuneaton.More like another open day at Barrow AFC.Can we survive? Tuesday will tell us.
Seasons to be cheerful.Part 16 3/4 :skill:

Have to say, they were two stupid subs, I also have to say DB is right to blame Hurst for their equaliser as he was totally at fault, the subs didnt make him drop the ball as if it was a bar of soap

He was to blame, but first half made a world class save. Swings roundabouts. Life of a goalkeeper :D

Excellent point. Shame Bayliss didn't mention that in his RC interview!

I agree, just making the point to add a touch of balance to the debate.
