5year ground development plan

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

All this sounds amazing.

I'm still in dreamland and in disbelief that all this is happening to Barrow AFC.

Personally, I'd like to see the Crossbar replaced by a new terrace or stand before the redevelopment of the two sides. This would give decent accommodation for visiting fans when segregation is in force. Rebuilding the Holker End is a priority, though, for home supporters.

They might take the positive view that a larger stand will provide shelter from the winds blowing from the Irish Sea.

Or maybe they won't. ;)

You never know, there maybe no objections at all, personally I don't think there will be.I would like to think that most people that purchased a property around that neck of the woods knew the risks in terms of what might happen,or could happen living near a football ground/club with potential such as ours. That is of course unless they are complete scone-heads.
I'll tell you what will become a major issue around there though as we progress,Parking.

Great news, and I really liked the things he had to ay about giving respect to the traditions of Barrow. Also, everything he comes out with seems to be plain common sense, not pie in the sky.

Lets just wait and see folks, I have a membership brochure from a few short years ago with all this sort of stuff in. Papa Cass has been brilliant for us in every way so far, he is a top bloke regardless of what he achieves at Barrow. Regime change was needed at AFC and he came along in the nick of time, however he is not Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Man City owner). How would another U.S. recession like 2007-June 2009 affect things for example? Reach for the stars, but keep your feet on the ground methinks.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

The plans sound really good and I hope they all come off but I would guess they will be a little while off yet? There are also a few cautions before anything gets built that PC will need to consider.
Planning permission can be a really contentious one especially with our council as well as the various planning laws? As an example the owners of the new houses that are gonna be built on Brady's Yard may have summet to say about the plans for the new Main Stand and their light being blocked out?
I wonder what those moaners who regularly stand in the same place on the Popular Side will think when they realise they won't be able to stand there any more and in future will have to sit down and also pay more for the privilege ;)
One thing I would like to see but I don't think will happen is being able to change ends at HT :( as I can't see home fans walking past the away fans? As mentioned a Stand and terrace at the Cross Bar End would be a way round this issue?

Think it said in the Mail article work on the Holker Street roof was to begin at the start of next season, providing everything else is sorted regards planning permission etc.

Quite right the benefit of non league football is to stand behind the goals where your team are attacking or wherever you want and have a walk round at half time but as you go up the pyramid this is not possible......this goes out the window even if we go up one league for most games

I've come back down to earth somewhat, but I'm still massively excited by this project. However I'm still in a mix as to how this is all going to be funded?? It's a somewhat personal and possibly private question but does anyone actually know what PC is actually worth in £££?? £5-£10million it says in the mail to be spent on Holker st, crazy figures we could once only dream of! Fingers crossed this all goes ahead and we can have a state of the art modern ground to call ours!

Paul Casson's company primarily operates in the Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors industry.
It is believed to be the 2nd biggest in the USA.
While not a billionaire, it is widely believed that he has a few hundred million.
Maybe he is using the interest off this money to fund Barrow AFC.

There are a lot of grants and outside investment from third parties available.

For example, the majority of the money for the previous unsuccessful bid came from someone looking to build office space.

Exciting times ahead
