Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
Re: Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
Overall, poor.
Reluctant to moan at a 3-0 away win, but we played zero football. The sending off and outfield player in goals distort it and make it look better than it was, but we really weren't great and Oxford had large parts of the game.
Pleased with the result, but lots of room for improvement in the performance.

After our Crimbo collapse we badly need a run of results to cement our confidence & regain that momentum, We are achieving this with another win against a decent side, Yes vs 10 men, Yes it wasn't total football, But I for one am happy with it.boyliegladbach wrote:Yes I would but would have liked us to play well and put 3 passes together.whitty1969 wrote: Your right, but would you have taken an ugly 3 pts before the game?
This scoreline flattered us and 11v11 I doubt we would have on.
Re: Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
From all accounts Oxford were very unlucky against what is an increasingly defensive Fylde the other night, reports of 5,8, 10 and 11 men behind the ball at times. Quite a lot of changes today, we could have come unstuck, but it worked in the end even if the sending off helped. In context of the recent slump as Edmo has just said on BBC RC, 3 wins in 10 days is a good response.
Any impressions of how Lewis Guy and Andy Haworth got on?
Boston have blown hot and cold all season which is probably why they are not currently in the playoffs. Lost at home to 2-7 to Oxford earlier in the season then blow Guiseley away. Guiseley not doing that well against the better sides in the division, sure they'll be scratching heads again.

Fylde at home to Chorley on same day.Matty wrote:That'll do. Big opportunity to make it four in a row at home v Brackley.
Bloody hell Guiseley!

Good result, no one is saying otherwise, however sounds like it was a poor performance against a team down to 10 without a goalkeeper.

Spare a thought for Hyde, 15 points from safety with 14 games left, teams above them have at least 1 or more games in hand. I think it is probably beyond them now.

Couldn't care less about Hyde, all I'm bothered about next week is us winning again and Chorley getting a result
Re: Oxford City V Barrow AFC Match Thread
Good result
Sounded like the same old hoofball quality wise ,but after our glorious leaders post the other day it doesn't matter how crap it is to watch as long as win.

Shows how bad our result was at Hyde that some tried to defend.K_BFC wrote:Spare a thought for Hyde, 15 points from safety with 14 games left, teams above them have at least 1 or more games in hand. I think it is probably beyond them now.
Steeley and Kieran are correct with their summaries. We may have won well on the scoreline but wouldn't have won so easily if they had 11 men for the whole game. Hoofball in the first half and so narrow in the 2nd. Taylor had little to do 2nd half and we need to keep hold of the ball better and be more creative.
Happy we won but will need to up our game for tough fixtures coming up away at Stockport & Tamworth.

Three on the bounce.....pleased with that after a sticky Christmas period.
Hopefully Fylde will now be taking a bit of notice of our recent results & that'll add a little pressure amongst the players.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Damn all these 'so called fans' that were actually at the game saying we were poor! How dare they! FFS! How could they question anything? Miserable [SwearFilter]! ...cont page 47
Safe trip home gents after a decent result for the team.
We'll know more at Stockport and Tamworth. Get something from there, we're showing progress. Don't, we're kidding ourselves.

Shame Fylde never got to Wembley.............FA would of only needed to allocate them a Corporate box for their fans....K_BFC wrote:Full-times, Conference North...

Tamworth 4-1 Stalybridge

Fylde concentrating on the league. Guiseley dropping to 4th after a 5-1 pasting at Boston. Tamworth replace them in 3rd as the current form team winning 4-1 against Stalybridge. Next weekend's visitors Brackley lost to a last minute goal, 2-3 at home to Lowestoft.
