Pitch / floodlights first. Stand developments will most certainly go into the football season and put that part of the ground out of action. Like when current Main Stand was being built.

Not neccasarily Jonty, Pitch turning 90 degrees will be an option on the table almost definitely.
Pitch might get levelled at end of season. But no new pitch going down. No point in doing floodlights if pitch is going to turn 90 deg.

I can't envisage the benefits in turning things 90 degrees. That would be an enormous upheaval. What you gain in space at the Holker street, Crossbar ends (which would effectively be sides of the stadium) you'd lose at the Pop side, where there just also happens to be a business there, which would need re-locating. Can't see it.

Agree with you 100% mate. However it is been looked at very closely. Don't forget we own all the land up to the soccer bar now. Nothing can be ruled out.

We've got to have seats. We've got to generate income at the bar etc. Therefore the HSE will likely go first?

To clarify, the initial idea was to start very soon but as we've gone along we've looked at the bigger picture. Such as training facilities, ancillary services etc.

Like I said earlier, we get one shot at getting this right, it'll be worth it in the end

As far as I know, we are being 'whittled down' by Pete to 10 perhaps also subject to (I hope) a few alterations if one or two younger folk or parents of young kids throw their hats in the ring for balance. It was a bit male and middle aged, although I suspect there's quite a range of different perspectives and knowledge there.

He (Paul Casson) seemed very relaxed about it taking as long or as short as necessary to get it right- talked a lot about making sure it was representative of the community and we weren't going for anything too soulless. Also mentioned getting fans in in a variety of ways earlier in the day to the area..something I am very keen on as long as it's not just 'families'. Seemed very positive about the designers having different, creative options and seemed quietly confident that any issues with the surrounding area could be resolved. As someone who finds this whole benefactor thing a bit hard sometimes to get my head around- I came away much reassured.
