Ho ho bloody ho!Mark Mc wrote:Not having that, PC certainly doesn't keep us in the dark! Would be nice for next season if something, albeit temporary could be done to address this to complement the excitement of moving up to a higher league.
Would also just add that those lamps halfway down the pylons annoy the most youngish of eyes never mind anyone with eye problems.
Re: Casson Calls for Promotion
and what is wrong with what I wrote yesterday bingo? If you think we are going to win that league next year you are deluded bottom half survival would do me and I said the buses to Lowestoft should have set of earlier give fans more time there to savour the day so get youre facts right none of them related so why bring it up ?

Imagine if PC said ' omg it would be awesome just to survive next year.' Hardly inspirational is it.
Aim high. You might just hit something. Aim low. Expect to hit nothing.
In my opinion, mid table would be great. However, I think we will find it tough. Survival is number 1 priority, build up brand, then push. Going to need some money splashed though.

At least we are showing ambition its a hard league to be in but with the budget rumoured that we have we should have a good chance of being in the top half i would be dissapointed if we go up to just survive which is what we have done in the past but times have changed this is the casson era where its time to aim higher with our resources i would be happy with mid table with a challenge for play offs the following year by the looks of things casson wants things to move fast so lets enjoy it

Urgh, what a horrible phrase!thegaffer77 wrote:build up brand
As for next season, with the budget we're going to have there is no way that we should just be surviving. Straight into the top 5 might be a big ask, but we should be top half at least. A lot depends on how Edmo adapts as we must remember that he's never managed at that level and managers often under estimate the gap when they've never done it before.

Re: Casson Calls for Promotion
Although continued momentum would be great, a couple of seasons of consolidation would be fine by me, whilst the off-field revolution takes place and the club builds a solid platform for progression. However, we need to take caution from recent history. After the 2008 promotion, during those first two seasons of desperately treading water, we all craved a bit of relief and the luxury of mid-table obscurity. When in the following season we got what we wanted - a 13th place finish if memory serves - I distinctly remember the gradual dwindling of attendances that followed. Whilst the team comfortably held its own in a tough league, the public responded with indifference. We, the core support, remained loyal, as we usually do. The recession wouldn't have helped, but it was so disappointing how even the hysteria of Middlesborough, Sunderland and Wembley failed to ignite interest in the club's league campaigns like we all hoped it would. This time, I'd like to think that the Furness public will continue to get behind the club during fallow, consolidation periods (if indeed we have them!) and show the Casson family we really want the football club to be proud of that they are trying to give us.

This x1000. Expecting big changes but for the better. We will be competitive next year even if not quite up to playoffs standard.Kieran wrote:Urgh, what a horrible phrase!thegaffer77 wrote:build up brand

Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

He's not going to say that. He's a bloke in his sixties. Blokes in their sixties haven't got a clue what 'OMG' means. LOL.thegaffer77 wrote:Imagine if PC said 'omg it would be awesome just to survive next year.' Hardly inspirational is it.

You actually said you could not see the buses making it in time "that bus sounds fantastic but really cant see it making it down there in time"
I never said we would win the league - I just stated I wasn't going to told to calm down by someone who clearly has a negative outlook
Survival and a cup run will do me - but id rather here PC talk of doing well... And who knows
So I living in hope with a open mind not stating for fact there is no way we will make the top 5 without seeing what signings we make - unless you can see into the future of course

Don't think Mr Casson would agree with you there, just ask the people at the Gherkin!Steelworks End wrote:Kieran wrote: Urgh, what a horrible phrase!
Agreed. We're a team, not a brand.
The team of players and management are the team. We are the fans.
Anyway here is a definition:
The Brand Promise
At its core, a brand is a promise to consumers. What will consumers get when they purchase a product or service under your brand umbrella? The brand promise incorporates more than just those tangible products and services. It also includes the feelings that consumers get when they use your products and services.
Is Barrow AFC a brand?
