Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
Lots of people including fans, players, managers and officials swear at matches, I've heard them all do it. Does that mean they could be banned too? The law of the land applies to us all does it not?
Andy is a good lad, a passionate fan. I feel this ban is very wrong indeed!

Interesting that the club are happy to ban a person for a public order conviction but equally happy to employ a steward who has a been sacked for theft and subsequently a theft conviction from the courts...
Double standards indeed. It's the result of an absolutely appalling and blatantly obvious personal vendetta by two policemen in particular & way exceeding both the requirements of the club and of the police in policing Barrow matches.
The ban is beyond unnecessary, the whole way the police went about it is disgusting and it's frustrating as hell to know they can do what and who they want and get away with it no questions asked...

It is very wrong and as al said if the pitch invasion was ok why did the stewards try to take the crutches off a lad to stop him.
Im waiting with baited breath for our local saftey officer to update us on this.
Absolute joke of a ruling

I know of at least one fan who roams the terraces every week who's been sent down for dealing heroine twice.
Nice lad. Always supported the football.
Any worse???

How sad and ridiculous this is. I heard a Barrow player sw*ear at today's game showing a bit of passion and all that. Ban him?

Can't wait to see every player that swears near a steward or police next season get banned
Whole thing is a stitch up. They wanted there man and got him.
Like I said earlier, I was stood next to him, the swearing was not at the policeman.

Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
So the club cant do much. Is there any way both the fans and club can combine to approach a member of the police? One that may actually be reasonable? If they are saying they will ban someone if the club un-bans them, surely thats not morally right, and more of a threat?
Swearing isnt illegal. Invading a football pitch is.

Get 500 fans that have sworn at a match to all turn up at Barrow police station to hand themselves in. Don't leave till they have processed everyone, would soon sort it out.

Its a ridiculous situation, but sadly not at all surprising. That the Police can put someone in front of a court, paint a picture that is wildly inaccurate and still know with pretty much 100% certainty that they're going to get a conviction is also rather worrying.

If you don't like it, go to the rugby. Jamie Reid's advice, I believe. Whilst I could never go that far, I shan't darken Holker Street's door for a while.
Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
Of course he's going to be singled out - he's done this on at least 7 occasions. Given his past, it's understandable that police thought he could get out of hand. Swearing isn't the issue here.
Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
From what I've read none of this seems to be the clubs fault so why boycott?
If the club supports Andy and rescinds the ban then he will probably get a longer ban, what can the club do and why is it their fault. Just asking maybe I've misunderstood
