Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
As John says there was an announcement about going on pitch,
The lad went on and was dealt with in the manner explained in previous posts
but in court this was said
Prosecutor Mr Lee Dacre explained: “It was April 18 and Barrow were playing their last home game of the season against Tamworth.
There was a lap of honour by the players and then there was a pitch invasions. Police and the stewards were happy with what was happening and didn’t see any cause for concern.
Whole things been handled terribly.

Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
But you know you aren't supposed to go on the pitch, so if you do you know you are taking a risk. Easiest advice - just don't do it and their wouldn't be an issue. The Wrexham example gets brought up time and time again. I've seen Barrow fans get away with allsorts - home and away!KHayman wrote:There have been away fans who have gone on the pitch during the game after a goal(Wrexham fans?) and have had the freedom of the pitch with no repercussions. Yet a Barrow fan on crutches is manhandled. I think that's the problem Leitchy and others (myself included) had/have a problem with. Its these double standards that have irked fans.
Busy body Ralph and the usual lot are now on the case.

It's not just Wrexham, other away fans have done it

Getting more akin to North Korea over the last five/six years. No wonder I'm apathetic towards the soccer.

Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
Still waiting for our chief steward to come give his say oj the matter.
Why in court are out stewards and police saying its fine to invade the pitch and theres nothing wrong with it yet on the day it was completley different.
Had it been anyone but andy the situation would of been totally different.
End of the day swear at the football your days are numbered.
Hope the same rules apply now when my next door neighbour does his diy and hits his thumb with a hammer.
Im offended by his language
Absolute joke!

Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
People complaining about victimisation then jumping on Ralphs post is a bit rich. Bit of backtracking going on already.
Its shite whats happened, but you cant keep putting yourself in situations where you shout abuse at stewards or police.
There shouldnt have been people on the pitch, and imo they did the job on the day. What has been reported since is another matter, really the pitch invaders should also be up in court. If someone on crutches vandalised your car you wouldnt want them to go easy on them would you.
Is there anyway of the club formally requesting other officers on match day? If anything thats the minimum that needs to happen.

Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
All seems very harsh on the lad- what happened to being removed from the ground and that's the end of it. A club ban to Christmas in our return to the national stage is a real tough one for someone who is absolutely mad on the club- Is there nothing else that can be done?
With that said, There's swearing in the heat of the game caught up in the passion and there's swearing that can be considered aggressive or threatening. That's a fine line and subjective. Someone stood f-ing and blinding may be totally acceptable to some and not others (i don't think its a big problem at HS)- when do the stewards act? When does a fellow fan have a word and say- you're acting the whopper lad- calm it down- and what would the reaction be to that?
It's not a good situation at all- I hope something can be done to move things forward positively.
There may be a day at HS when you can't move freely between stands, there'll be no smoking anywhere in the ground and you'll be out for farting. This is the way it is.

Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
People shouldn't have been on the pitch as there was still a real possibility that we may have been in the play offs
Just my opinion
Re: Upgdate regarding policing at BAFC
What a nonsense post. Being a moderator doesn't mean he can have his sayDaveP wrote:no no no John. You made the comment that "it sounds like Ralphs already made his mind up" Clearly untrue. He absolutely clearly asked if it was true and if not could someone tell him the other side of the story. Get it right John or is it that moderators can say or do what they want with impunity? Who moderates the moderators?
Moderators are here to enforce the rules of the forum where necessary and sensible. Disagreeing with someone has never been against the rules - if it was we may as well close the whole thing down.
He's not being offensive or personal, he's not being a racist or homophobe, he's not doing anything illegal, and his post is on topic. Wind your neck in.

How's it a lie?
"It sounds like Ralph's already made his mind up"
Who are you to say what it sounds like? I read Ralph's post and I agree, it sounds like he's made his mind up before hearing the evidence. That's not a lie, it's an opinion.
