Ordinarily we would have switched companies but unfortunately a significant deposit was paid out at the onset.
Correctly found criticism , tension created by those at the club through non existent communication channels and cynicism about their ability to function to an ACCEPTABLE standard.

Can't be that hard to set up an auto reply to incoming emails saying :

"There is currently an ongoing problem with the internet connection at the club we will try to reply to your email as soon as possible. If your matter is urgent please contact us on our phone number (enter number here), we apologise for this inconvenience and hope to have this issue resolved as soon as possible"

Surely thats better than simply ignoring fans, businesses and potential customers?

I'm sure I've read somewhere that they had been addressed Dave, but I'll check anyway.

I know a former member of this forum has had a meeting or two with Paul & Austin so he might have something on this (and he owns 49% of this thread, a former member of this forum....earn your percentage!!)

IIRC I believe this was to be brought up with PL. PL make tight fitting products and as far as I am aware our last batch that came to the ground were supposedly better sized, however I havn't seen them.

They did say that they had ordered some more shirts in for the xmas period but they couldn't remember which shirts they had actually ordered and in what quantity. They also said Polo shirts had been ordered and would be in the shop for xmas time ( again im not sure if this happened or not).

IF this internet problem is as big an issue as is claimed (which I seriously doubt) then there are countless temporary solutions that could have been used all of which would have addressed the problem of e-mails not being answered.

Not aiming this at you Ian as I know you're only passing answers on, but that answer is complete [SwearFilter]. There is no excuse in this day and age for e-mails to go unanswered like they do.

Indeed.

USB Dongles, Mobile Internet etc etc. It's inconceivable that the club could have a problem so big they cannot have internet access.

The batch of shirts made available around Christmas were a more relaxed fit!

Cheers Spirit and a former member of this forum. Hopefully I'll be able to get a shirt next season, haven't been so lucky for the last 2 years.

Agreed, those were just what was needed at the start of the season. I think it was a case of only seeing numbers and words on a contract and not actually examining the goods. Poor commercial nouse there.

Did the board look at how the rugby do shirt launch evenings, player sponsorship evenings and take that on board?
What is the problem with the internet that seems to hold the club back so much? We have BT buisness contracts at work and whenever we have a problem they send people to fix it the next day and they keep coming until it's fixed
(Shirts) The designs are with PlayerLayer already and we have every hope that they will be here much earlier than last year, we have asked for a delivery date and should hear back shortly.

(Kit launch) The club will look into the way the rugby do their launches. (in the meantime, I'm going to try and speak with someone from the rugby and see if a meeting can be set up with Austin)

(Clubs internet) We entered into a plan to modernise the system back in July with a company who promised us heaven & instead has taken us through Hell. Apologies go out for the disruption caused to fans, also to the people who work in the stadium who have had to soldier on amid criticism, tension, & even cynicism about their ability to function to their normal standards.

Im sure you probably can't name which company is responsible for the internet problems. But it wasn't BES was it ( andy pilleys company)

I work not far from ground. 4G on my phone is great I get all my emails instantly.

I think they are just making poor excuses for poor customer service (don't mean you Ian in the poor excuse bit)

Somewhat embarrassing that the President of Casson-Mark Corp. "a leading telecommunications services innovator, dedicated to providing cutting edge solutions for the design, construction, and maintenance of both wireless and wireline networks" isn't able to provide an adequate telecommunications solution to his little hobby -- Barrow AFC.

I mentioned this to Austin and he is keen to see how they do their kit launch & player sponsorship evenings, I've since been in touch with Pete Murphy (rugby commercial manager) and both he & Austin will be meeting tomorrow to have a talk through what they do on their launch nights.

As the meeting is during my working day I probably won't be there, but I'll pop a post up when Austin can tell me how it went.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

In addition to this I was in Crofters once and the new Raiders signing was being introduced to fans and stuff, is this something we could do at the CrossBar? The place was packed and it seemed a good opportunity to meet the guy and for him to get a feel for the town/fan base?
