If that's aimed at my post, where the [SwearFilter] did i criticise Dixon? I said HE'LL be disappointed just as all keepers are when they concede. Also said he will make howlers just like any keeper but he will keep on getting better. U must be missing a former member of this forumJo am back wrote:This site is full of absolute idiots,we have just won away at top of the league and are the highest placed we have been for years, yet all some can do is come on here criticising our young keeper, who is still learning developing, what is wrong with you people. I hope to god he doesn't read these posts as his confidence will be shot. All keepers make errors, ive just watched de gea play like a [SwearFilter],and hes one of the best, supposidly. Get off the lads case and support him.

Re: Lincoln v Barrow match thread
Totally agree with that, infact the group i stand with at home games allways shout his name and give him encouragement when he comes to the goal, holker end. My point is,why do people have to focus on any error he makes and come on here criticising him,and before you pull me up on it,people do criticise him and even suggest he needs replacing. Show me any keeper at any level that doesn't make mistakes.Hes younng, very capable and learning the game.We should support him.Bingo wrote:I think 10 mins of chanting his name showed how much the fans at the game yesterday appreciated his efforts

Re: Lincoln v Barrow match thread
An excellent away win. I award each Barrow AFC player a 7/10. This is the highest average rating of the 3 Barrow AFC matches I have attended this season - with Moussa Diarra being the most improved, from previous awards of 4/10 and 5.5/10.
Unfortunately this was a first visit to Sincil Bank, but Lincoln City should be commended on the match day experience they offer. Acceptable facilities with a superb view from the Lincolnshire Co-operative Stand. I award the ground a 7/10 and hope to return should the opportunity arise again.

It's a forum, a goalkeeper makes a mistake and it is highlighted.I suppose we have been lucky to have the likes of Fred Else,Harry Thomson and Peter McDonnell all experienced keepers.
PC has tried to make sure he is more protected and it looks like it's working.
A forward can miss a chance and can redeem himself by scoring.
Lincoln's Goalkeeper to me should have saved from Bennett.

Dixon did not make a mistake. The ball was blasted at his chest from 5-6 yards. With a bit of luck he might have held it but not many keepers would have done. He was unlucky that his double stop bounced off the player into the net.
Re: Lincoln v Barrow match thread
It would only be on barrowafc.net that we debate whether our keeper made a mistake after a win away at the league leaders.
Popular side since '03.

One for Paul at Thursdays fans meeting.glasgow_blue wrote:. Does anyone know if we have a goalkeeping coach?
I believe they have or had a lad called Mick ? who does 1 or 2 days a week with the keepers,

A bit of luck?
He has alot to learn having played for a pub team before coming here.
Nothing wrong with him as a keeper just cannot kick a dead ball, catch a cross or come out for back pass but he is better than Joe Hart.

He played for Sunderland before us where he would have received specialist goalkeeping coaching every day
Re: Lincoln v Barrow match thread
Thank God we were unsuccessful in our attempt to sign Rhead. On Saturday the Lincoln forward looked lethargic, over weight, slow and clumsy and our back four dealt with any threat he posed, which was extremely limited.
Harrison on the other hand looked sharp, threatening and his goal was a real goal poacher’s finish.
On that showing we have got ourselves a striker who is streets ahead of anything a bloated Rhead had to offer. Well done Cox and the scouting team.

Yes. He spilled the first shot but I also thought the Lincoln keeper should have saved both Barrow goals! Looked like a decent game from the highlights.HenneysKnee wrote:Didn't hear the RC commentary but having watched the highlights I'm guessing the criticism would refer to Dixons first save where he patted it down back into his six yard box rather than the great reactions for the follow up?

Re: Lincoln v Barrow match thread
Good post. He looked old. What is his age? He did very little apart from waiting around for the ball to come to him. I suppose if he is getting the goals that's all they want him to do but that then means the other players have to be on their game all the time.45YEARS+ wrote:Thank God we were unsuccessful in our attempt to sign Rhead. Harrison is superb, puts the effort in AND SCORES. I hope Bennett hasn't picked up a bit of a strain just when things are going well.
Yates' enthusiasm must be contagious and his ecstatic celebrations at the end of the game and interaction with the fans will make him a firm favourite--hope he stays with us as he obviously is having a good time( to quote Queen). I noticed at the last home game he was out on the pitch on his own after the game still doing his stretching and warming down exercises for a good ten minutes after the others had gone in.
Confidence must be sky high with these results.

Interesting to hear the Lincoln manager on BT Sport highlights saying they needed more strength in depth. Was it 29 players listed in their programme?
