So a win here bags us the 18k & the 12.5k for the next round being covered again, factor in the shared gate for the next round as we will only cover expenses tonight, & tonight's possible win is rewarded nicely, play up Barrow.

Scaffolding will be in place inside the Ray Wilkie stand due to TV cameras being in place. Some terracing may be temporarily unavailable.

Might hamper tonight's commentary team and some supporters view of the game.

its about three miles away you'll need to hop into a taxi to get to the ground from there or the cheaper option would be the number 75 bus which drops you off outside the ground it should say cribbs causeway on the busThe Tomahawk Kid wrote:How far is the stadium from Bristol Harbour?

What are the TV cameras there for? FA Cup 1st round replay highlights?Mark Mc wrote:Scaffolding will be in place inside the Ray Wilkie stand due to TV cameras being in place. Some terracing may be temporarily unavailable.

I think that hits the nail on the head. All the original games in this round were televised in some way or another and so are all the replays.

That is the price for League 1 games, for FA Cup games the prices are agreed between the 2 clubs in advance of the match. The Tomahawk Kid wrote:Any NEGATIVES?
YES! Admission Price: 18.00 - if purchased in advance - 20 notes on the day!
You think £18/20 is OTT - it costs £21 in our league at Dagenham!
Why does the money matter? Paul Casson has pumped in a fortune - it will go straight to him and be a tiny fraction of what he's put in so far.mickmike wilson wrote:So a win here bags us the 18k & the 12.5k for the next round being covered again, factor in the shared gate for the next round as we will only cover expenses tonight, & tonight's possible win is rewarded nicely, play up Barrow.
He's spent over 400K just on the ground/Cross Bar improvements and when you add the amount he'll be subsidising the wage bill and all the other costs it will be over a million so 30K is a drop in the ocean.

What a stupid question Tidds, Money always matters, We all know it's a fraction of his investment here but it's a return on that investment, No matter how small, it's still a return & will give him some satisfaction that he isn't just throwing his money away as we are close to the much bigger money rounds which will be an enormous positive & show him his time, money and resources are well spent & it goes some way into the sustainability we all want, But you knew that already didn't you?

Some people go on as though it matters more than it does.mickmike wilson wrote:What a stupid question Tidds, Money always matters, We all know it's a fraction of his investment here but it's a return on that investment, No matter how small, it's still a return & will give him some satisfaction that he isn't just throwing his money away as we are close to the much bigger money rounds which will be an enormous positive & show him his time, money and resources are well spent & it goes some way into the sustainability we all want, But you knew that already didn't you?
We will never get anywhere near being sustainable at this level and neither will most other clubs, half of PC's ground plans from when he first came have already been shelved.

Money matters John, Your mega fugal travel plans make that blindingly obvious & Cassons ground plans may have been in part due to the lack of support we were getting when we are having our best season ever while being NL, We we're stuck with 1200/1300 for a age....Recently we are drawing 1700/1800 which is miles better, Hopefully we can drag a few more in & our gate averages fly up then you never know we might just upscale our redevelopment plans again to suit the higher average.
Re: FA Cup 2nd Round Draw Crawley/Bristol R v Barrow/Taunton
I think you've hit the nail on the head there Mickmike.
The owner must be really disappointed at the crowd levels and wonder what the Barrow public want.
they have a decent team and I'm sure he was hoping we would be averaging a higher crowd than we have been to date.
I know its Catch 22 because the facilities in cold wet weather are pretty poor but still he's bound the reign back on some of his planned spend

I think the point you made Mike was totally valid. Last nights result and the rewards for getting here don't directly, or instantly have anything to do with long term sustainability but it shows things are going in the right direction and must look better on PC's bank statement than if Tranmere had knocked us out last month. 50k (although a small amount in the overall that wasn't there for us at the start of October with the possibility of more to come must be a shot in the arm for Paul.mickmike wilson wrote:Sorry John but I'm not following you here,John Very Little wrote: Some people go on as though it matters more than it does.

On the subject of people either coming back or just trying us out, I've seen the interest in the club take off through speaking to people in the yard, people who have very rarely been or in some cases have never attended games are now starting to pop down to watch us.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
