Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
Extremely entertaining and well worth the admission price today. Haven't been able to say that too often this season but look forward to saying it a bit more regularly. Missing crowd's a mystery to me. The club needs to promote these games a lot more.
Don't want to take anything away from what was a tremendous performance but our promotional dept needs a bomb up their arse.

That’s good news if it happens Adam, so why did you say in your interview that it had been announced he was going? Who announced it?Adam29 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 8:44 pm It was in the programme notes that were written before they discovered that hornby and pennock knew each other
Pennock has made an offer to neill to remain at the club which neill is considering and will respond tomorrow.
Hopefully he will agree to stay as i believe it could be a very good partnership

Thanks Adam - that’s good news. The person who told me must have read the programme notes. Shows how quickly things can change. Must have been when they met and realised they knew each other that the idea was born.
Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
That first half was brilliant stuff and the game could have been well won.
Gomis ran and ran till his battery went.
Clements was a class above many.
Hughesy was a colussus in defence and considering he was up against rendell etc this was a special performance.
Young bauress is not a wing back but he did very well today and played some great passes.
Asa hall was excellent again showing some leadership when needed.
Our strikers were a pair and lethal. They could have had more.
Bignot Thompson Moore And barthram all did their bit in at times pressed play.
Both subs did well and provided impetus and caused problems in the last minutes which took pressure off defence.
No wonder we stayed and applauded .
Thank you and well done players and management. Team barrow is back.
Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
Cheered me up no end that!!! A great squad performance. Teamwork is about everyone working for a common goal, and we saw it to a man today. Small steps, but very encouraging.

Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
Great performance today. Well done Ady & Neil H
All the players were up for it. Yussef could of had a hatful, clearly not fit but 3 great goals.
Got to eat humble pie, thought Bauress & Hughes were excellent too.
Clement superb in midfield, Gomis our best signing of the summer was excellent again.
Just a word on the ref. What a shocker you had, got about 2 decisions right all day..... Can't believe we got 3 pts and still moaning about the ref......
He really was terrible.
So still in the bottom 4, guiseley will be rescued by Coxy, we need to concentrate on our own results. Play like that then the fortress HS will be back

Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
Whoever did or did not put in transfer requests, my guess is that most of the squad would've happily left if offered an opportunity to do so over the last few weeks.
I don't believe this is as much to do with greed or ambition as it is a recognition of the fact that footballers are generally driven by pretty simple dynamics. Look at todays performance - Yusseff firing on all cylinders, Hughes playing well. Beating a good team with relative ease. Same players that were being written off as cart horses over the last few weeks.
String a few wins together and the rats deserting the sinking ship will become the backbone of the squad. I'm afraid it just emphasises how fickle the sport is. Truly is a funny old game.

Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
Really pleased with team performance much better atmosphere around the ground.Every thing been said already but well done yussuf and Hughes who had good game in far better position.Hopefully the two week break and backroom staff signings and training go well to give us another good performance re Macclesfield.Hope everyone enjoys Saturday night except the regular critics who are strangely silent this evening!
Re: Barrow v Aldershot match thread
If Moussa has put in a transfer request - probably due to Cox trying to unsettle him and others - hopefully today’s result will make him change his mind, as he can be part of a great TEAM that fights for each other.

What you think people should criticize the team when they played well ?liverpoolann wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 10:05 pm Really pleased with team performance much better atmosphere around the ground.Every thing been said already but well done yussuf and Hughes who had good game in far better position.Hopefully the two week break and backroom staff signings and training go well to give us another good performance re Macclesfield.Hope everyone enjoys Saturday night except the regular critics who are strangely silent this evening!
