Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
It's not every week. But the logistics are hard at the moment. Not least because our away end is a disgrace in terms of simple stuff, like being organised enough to let in anything over 200, then not falling over or wading through puddles.
There's remedial stuff in the close season planned I believe and folk are doing their best till then. If anyone wanted to volunteer to lend a hand on the day, with turnstiles in particular, I suspect, I would get in touch with Ryan at the club.

Great news if they have sold out already, give them the full Holker Street end and get as much money into the club as possible; it’s a long summer with no income

I’ll sort the toilet signs Dave.Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:13 pmThere’s a small hut there that was used as a can bar for the Rochdale game.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 12:32 pm
It’s a good idea but realistically where could we put a bar in the away end? Shame they don’t still go in the crossbar end, could get the tent back
Fao the maintenance crew...could we put up some signs for the away end that point the way to the toilet blocks? It’s not immediately obvious as you walk in (at least it wasn’t the last time I sold progs there, at the aforementioned Rochdale game)
We’re going to be doing quite a bit to them away toilets in the coming weeks...hopefully they’ll be a bit better for the Hartlepool game.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
I think that was the one I commented on wasn’t it? It’s really hard for them to (at the moment) justify opening that shop to sell cans etc for 10-20 people. It requires security and staff in the shop.HarveyBAFC wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 4:57 pmI mentioned this the other week and got told it's not worth it!barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 3:54 pm
This. Crazy if not. We could also do with some sort of temporary improvement, serving drink and better food in the away end, so next time they bring 150 and not 60
Having said that we’ve spoken with the club today and we’re going to be sorting that shop ready for the Hartlepool game, obviously with so many attending it’s a different kettle of fish to (say) Boreham Wood rolling up.

We’ve been looking at extending the segregation area depending on what the safety rules state. I think the plan is for the club to see how many tickets could be sold to Hartlepool and decide whether to extend or go a step further.JammyBluebird wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:48 pmWould need a substantial re-jig of barriers etc. that I doubt would be feasible.monkeyhanger08 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 12:41 pm Is 625 the full amount? or is the ground capable of holding more? id be very surprised if we dont sell out.
As someone said, it’s a long close season so they need as much cash in as possible while it’s there.

Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
We are speaking with the club about volunteers all the time at the moment. Both Trust and Club will be busy and we have been working much more closely together this season (put simply, if we've one extra, we are flexible and lend a hand). There's also our Barrow AFC team collecting for the K2B so it's a busy old day. But at least everyone will be pulling in the same direction and that's what it's all about.
If iR and co can sort some drinks area etc out for the away fans then great. Or even just better loos. And also if there''s work to be done there then the maintenance always need willing hands.
I would message Ryan through the club (Facebook is quickest) or you can give us a shout if you prefer. We are open tomorrow at the 21s if anyone is at that

Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
We’ll definitely have the can bar up and running Steve, it’ll be over to the club to man it both security and staff - wise.
The toilets will also be improved as best we can do in the time available.
As you can see, it’s going to be a very busy few weeks (especially with the X Bar work going on) so if anyone can lend a hand either during the week or Sunday mornings please get in touch, the more the better.
I’ll put a more detailed “jobs to do” list on the GMV thread at some point in the next day or so.

This is a timely test for the new owners to get a feel for the match day management of a big away following, but let’s not forget we did manage a big 1000+ Darlington following and a full house in the cup a few seasons ago, so we do have experience to draw upon.

Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
I seriously doubt that, probobly more like 150 to 200 sold. They only went on sale at dinner time. Their is a huge amount of interest in going though and id of thought over half will of been sold after tommorow.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 5:38 pm Sold their allocation apparently.

Re: Hartlepool fancy dress last home game
That Darlington game we ended up opening the emergency exits to get people off Wilkie Road and into the ground!
IIRC a young gentleman graciously volunteered to act as an auxiliary turnstile attendant with no change or tickets to give out.
Rochdale we managed, thanks to ‘the list’.

Hartlepool fans been phoning the club all day to get their hands on tickets and Hartlepool have asked for more Allocation already. Only what I've was told at tea timemonkeyhanger08 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 7:25 pmI seriously doubt that, probobly more like 150 to 200 sold. They only went on sale at dinner time. The fans are asking for more tickets but we certainly havent sold out or anywhere near selling out yet. Even when we sold 4000 for darlo and could of sold double i dont think we sold 600 on the first day. Im not exactly sure why pools fans are ringing barrow for tickets when you can go on the site niw and purchase them.
