We are a team , a proper team . Have to hand it to IE ,
we had problems, and like last year , he has sorted it. Great , solid performance from a joined up unit . Well done Barrow AfC !!!

I totally understand strikers being greedy but Quigley should’ve given Angus the ball in that situation.
Got to feel for Dior at the moment as he never stops and causes all sorts of problems for opposing teams and he absolutely deserves a few goals.
They didn’t threaten too much although I felt like they made us work for the win.
As I said a few weeks ago, I didn’t think there was much wrong with our game, we just needed some luck. The corner has well and truly been turned now.

Last five games with Platt P/5 W/5 L/0 D/0 F/14 A/1 Previous five without Platt P/5 W/1 L/3 D/1 F/6 A/8

What a turnaround.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Scruffy first twenty minutes but we settled down and did our thing and overall it was comfortable. Ref was shite.

Great result against a big scrappy team. They make it hard to play play nice football against team like that, but we dealt with them well including a bit of tough get stuck in tackling.
Will be a good marker next week against Bromley to see how we play against them.
Great set of results for September Let’s keep it going through October

Sometimes things turn on the finest of margins . . . . . just a few weeks ago we dropped into the bottom four but without any massive overhaul we now look as though we can stand up against any side in this league. It took just two things: The penalty save by Dixon that served to dispel a massive psychological barrier we were struggling to overcome, and the capture of Platt who is not only some player in his own right but who has had the effect of spreading belief throughout the whole side that we CAN defend and resist where not so long back we caved very easily.

Agreed with you, Ian, you have to feel for Angus a bit because he's working hard and not hiding even though it must weigh on him that he can't find a goal. He plays well, there's definitely a decent player in there. I just wish him goals. In the same way as the Dixon penalty save seemed to cast off the defensive demons we laboured under I hope one goal for Angus will set him free from the chains.

McMark, I'm very sorry to hear about you saying that you can hear the cherubs singing. I assume that sadly you have died and gone to heaven? But heaven must be hell if you can't be at HS watching the lads turn in performances like this . . . . .

Yes Ian this was clear on Tuesday night. Quigley is very selfish and rarely seems to lay the ball off. This doesn't help Angus in his current situation. However I guess that's just part of the strikers make-up and he is doing the business. Saw his goal on BT tonight and it was a class finish. Not sure Angus is capable of that currently.

To me Rooney is the revelation so far. 7 goals in September I think which is a mighty impressive stat. Even if a few of those are pens its good to see he's been banging them in at a time when the bulk of penalties in the NL for some reason seem to have been missed.

5 league wins on the bounce. Brilliant Barrow.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

5 on the bounce, first time since 1968. That's a hell of a stat. Well done boys.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

After the first 20 mins we were superb again yesterday. Should of been a comfortable 4-0 win.
Nearly 1400 home fans. Hopefully a few floaters will be back for the next one....they must of enjoyed that game..
Well done everyone once again....

It’s the first time since January 2014
Under Edmo we beat:
Workington 2-0
Stalybridge 3-1
Brackley 2-1
Telford 1-0
Guiseley 1-0
Before a 0-0 draw with Leamington ended the run

The standard of the league as a whole is pretty woeful this year; why not dream.........
