Firstly, the reasons for the trains being delayed are very sad, and it’s terrible that someone was so desperate to do such a thing.

Back to the football side of things. Not a cat in hells chance we’ll get awarded the points, and that’s entirely right. Dover should face some sort of penalty for the shocking, amateurish travel arrangements though.
Absolutely gutted for the club, supporters and caterers...that money has gone now.

Completely agree. No chance of the points being awarded to Barrow but I will be very surprised if Dover don't get a fine. Terribly sad situation and also huge blow for the club when the biggest gate for a long time would surely have happened. Also a big revenue loss and a stop to the team's momentum. Just seen that Boreham Wood have taken the lead at Halifax which is a measure of Barrow's last result.

I was just saying to somebody the other week how I couldn't understand why the fixtures for non-league day were not more local based like at Christmas as if we were playing the likes of Stockport, Chorley etc. You would guarantee a bigger gate because of away fans. Surely this would make sense to maximize the crowd even more.

To say I'm angry is one up there with the Macclesfield farce in the Fa cup this is far worse money aside momentum and our push for promotion!

Just looked at my train planner. The 9.30 from Euston should arrive in Barrow at 13.05, but that is change at Lancaster with just 7 (seven!) minutes to catch the connection. I would never risk a connection with such a fine margin. Absolute madness to plan a journey like that!

To get the earlier 08.30 train they'd have had to have left Dover at 05.18, then hope that there were no delays into London Victoria or on the Underground, so I can see why they went for the later train. Risky, though. Next time, perhaps a coach and/or an overnight hotel stay?

They won't be able to get back from Barrow by train after a rearranged Tuesday night game.
