Re: Next game board
I've said for decades that we should have a massive sign on top of the slaggy (slagbank) saying Barrow AFC with a big arrow pointing towards the ground. Which is right below it. Just needs someone to walk up it and change the game sign. Perhaps a certain someone on here could volunteer. !!

I trust you are referring to Redman's Way which leads to the stone circle?
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

Yes, from Furness College and back. Great views of the Isle of man on one side and the home of a rather special team on the other. A slight digress from the original topic.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 8:22 pmI trust you are referring to Redman's Way which leads to the stone circle?

I liked the old Give ‘Em Beans suggestion of having a massive statue of Cowps on top of the slagbank, like a Furness version of Rio’s Christ the Redeemer.
No vision at Ba r w C u cil, unfortunately.

Re: Next game board
Never fails to amuse this site! Months ago, when we were struggling for spectators, it was, fairly unanimously, said to be a disgrace that even the next game sign wasn’t up to date. Now we have had some success, and hence some more spectators, suddenly people are ridiculed for even mentioning that the same sign is not up to date!
If it is there it should be up to date. If it doesn’t work, get rid!

Can tell the clubs doing well when threads like this appear. Clinging onto something to moan about.
