Would like to think that if Bolton do agree to pay the figure upfront (whatever it is), there is financial scope for our BOD to offer IE a further improved contract, to at least give him a decision to make about remaining as our manager.

BWFC is clearly a sleeping giant at this level, but from what I read significant questions still remain about the ongoing financial viability of the football club and the financial clout of the new ownership. There is also the issue of the transfer embargo for the coming season, which will hamper any attempt to rebuild the squad.

it's very likely that Evatt in charge of Barrow would finish above Bolton whoever is in charge there for the very reason of the embargo...

The worst thing about this for me is the fact we’ve been waiting agonisingly for 3 months for the league outcome. We finally got that relief last week, only 7 days ago. The unthinkable finally confirmed, met with overjoy home and afar. Then just days later we have to go back to refreshing the news feeds and forum again, so unfair.

Very much my view. It's more than losing the Manager. He has had an impact beyond what is on the pitch. Managers have their own style, some of these players wont fit that, may not he may not connect with the fans/ the community. I know, its football, its what happens, but we dont have that stability yet and unproven as a league club, his departure would make our return to EFL a lot more difficult. He said himself, he's a rookie manager. One more season with us will help him and set us on our way.

You really haven't got the first clue about the jump from non league to league football, world of difference, how or why you think that Barrow will finish higher than Bolton I don't begin to understand, we're still a big draw for players and with our facilities and crowds we will be attracting some of the better freebies out there.

It is a massive gamble for Evatt so early into a promising career. If it was just the football he would have a fighting chance, but as things stand he is reaching for a poisoned chalice if ever there was one.

He might get a few more quid, play at a big stadium but realistically bolton are a mess, a bad start to the season and the pressures on. With us he's got a club with momentum behind it, support from the board and fans. Who knows, a top half finish with us or better and he'll be getting offered championship jobs. Could be an awful career move for him this early in management.

I’d argue the jump (in the cases of most opposition) won’t be as noticeable as that of the conf north to conf prem. hence it’s very rare teams come straight back down and quite often go up again. I could be wrong though as my knowledge of league 2 is zero

I think Evatt will go on to bigger and better things, no question, but right now I would prefer he stayed with barrow and give us that first year in the league and see what we can achieve. If he goes, so be it, he will have got us where we want to be. It’s football and managers and players come and go all the time whether we like it or not

Pay the compo in one go (and it ain't 120k) or they won't be getting him. That's the only actual fact at present.
