Great phots Ian.

It worries me how much damage has been done to the grass, are the club waiting until the work is over before repairing the pitch?

There's irrigation/drainage work we are required to undertake to be done yet, isn't there?
It all comes 'round again.

There are less supports holding Southend Pier up. 😉

Pitch is getting relayed. There's trenches all over at the moment for new drainage.

Thanks, Ian, some excellent photos.

For that very last one I reckon you must have had to get down 'n get dirty . . . it's a bit chilling to be shown so graphically what the final journey looks like, mind you. Still we've all got to go some time and at the end of the day this would be as good a place as any to be laid to rest. Just think how close one would be to the action every fortnight. Where do we pay our deposits for a plot? Not that I'm planning on moving in just yet . . .

Added some from today with the roof framework complete. Have done some from the back of the stand so you can see the viewing restrictions, it's not bad at all really, no worse than sat in certain places in the stand or back of the popular side.
The pitch work will be complete by Sunday, all drainage, irrigation and turf replaced, top dressed and seeded early next week. They've made a really neat job of it

Pitch has been razed mowed - top dressed and seeded early next week, it will be fine, especially with the ability to water it now as well
