2-1, gifted them a goal, shite football, no link up.... lacking strength forward and in open play, this needs plugging fast or we are looking at a serious relegation battle.

We seem half a second slower everywhere in these 2 league games, Hird Shocker of a pass to beat us today & a terrible blunder last week to cost us more points :(

Should be an interesting post match interview with DD giving his thoughts on an inept second half performance.

Sorry to say, we’ve been really poor second half. The stats don’t lie.

The slick passing game of last season is all but gone but what is more alarming for me is the total lack of creativity.

DD will say this where we are, but lets not have any excuses, we were not good enough.

That second half was as bad as anything I've seen from a Barrow side at any level for quite some time. Newport were a horrible horrible side, once they got in front they weren't interested in playing football and were happy to kill the game at every opportunity. A mixture of a poor referee and us being incredibly naive allowed them to do just that. What put them in the position to be able to do that was Hird's mistake, no excuse for that and nothing more needs to be said on it.

Such a positive last 20 mins of the first half, during which time we played as well as we have in any game under Dunn. Need to be a million times better than that second half though. Utterly dreadful.

Very very very poor that second half.

Absolutely nothing from anyone looked a team devoid of any idea at all. Mistake from Hird was shocking he defo shouldn’t be starting next week that’s 3 points lost due to his errors already!

Can’t take many positives at all from that second half.

We have nothing at all going forward, even when Quigley returns what service will he get from this showing.

To add Newport weren’t even that good in my opinion...

We are slow all over the park & half our passes are hospital balls as they chase us down from one hurried last min pass to the next, Speed it up lads.

I'm missing the National League......at this rate I don't have long to wait before we are back there.

That was utter garbage bar for ten minutes or so.

Newport County mid table at best but they made us look 3 leagues apart.

Since Dunn has come in we have started hoof ball to the other teams keeper as nobody on our team gets anywhere near it.

What I find frustrating is that some of the players don't look interested.

I thought we held our own in the first half. Great goal by Hardcastle and a couple more chances created, utilising Barry at wing-back and forcing their defence into making errors.

Second half was borderline embarrassing. Created absolutely nothing, mistakes made all over the park, lots of silly fouls given away which played into Newport’s hands as they looked to run down the clock.

Quickly realising there are a number of those in this squad who are not good enough for league football - we desperately missed Quigley et al.

Onto next week.

Get a grip Manager Dunn with a system, some structure and a plan, otherwise we're looking at the bottom 4. Ironic the last games were in March, yet 6 months later, 4 key starters are unavailable. Great anticipation by so many supporters for an exciting start to League 2, yet the reality is very disappointing. Not upset so much with a loss, but more about the pathetic performance. But only 2 games in and 44 to go, so there's plenty of time to turn it around.

Some of those players need to rot in the reserves until their contracts are up - wouldn't give Hird or Hindle any more playing time, and Brown, Angus and Barry don't look like they can make the step up.

The mistake killed the game as Newport decided to fall about after that. Don't know if this is what all League 2 teams will be like, but haven't seen time wasting like that for a long time.

Bottom line is though, we're useless without Platt and Quigley.

What do you want the lad to do when the ball is booted over the midfield, there is no movement upfront and everytime we get the ball in the final third we pass backwards.

I agree he hasn't done anything but what the hell can a playmaker do when we just bypass midfield and then pass backwards.
Offer yourself, go hunting for it, demanding it off people, just generally not plod about for 20mins would be a start.

Don’t get me wrong we had a full squad of poor players today but his high profile arrival had people excited.....he looks absolute bobbins and will be at Hyde United level soon enough from us showings so far.

Schoolboy errors in games one and two by the same player has cost us dearly. After such a positive finish to the first half we created nil in the second. Very poor and work to be done.
