Good point I can't belive Taylor has played 3 games in a row full 90 after being on furlough. Legs were on the way out long before that but he's the only real leader in the team I guess.blue nige wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:37 pmto be fair they'll be shattered because of injuries lack of quality we're playing the same 11 all the time you can't keep doing this or you get what we saw tonight!Craigthered wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:32 pm Did the players travel up last night or do they travel on match day since covid. exactly all after what had happened before with Dunn unforgivable really!boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:43 pmBut sanctioned them anywayblue blue boy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:38 pm Also described MJ signings as scattergun and not addressing the obvious shortcoming up top
Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
Good things about tonight; the pitch is recovering well and the flags look good.
We didnt have the answers for a well drilled direct side - crying out for someone to put their foot on it in midfield - where's Shezza when you need him. Harrogate have a formula that works and we never worked out how to get by it. In fairness Evatt couldn't do it last year either with the side we had then. The effort was there, just not the quality...

Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
Another disappointing performance. We are leaving too many gaps and we need to have a more attacking side at the start.I think we should start with Jamie Devitt. We knew about Mulldoon yet we let him get away. The football was very scrappy and they didn't seem to link up very well. Hopefully we do better against Mansfield. Aparrently the board tried to get better players in. if you listen to the discussion with the board they have said that they had players in mind who just wouldn't come to Barrow because of where it is even though they offered more money than other clubs. Having said all this I think Rob Kelly is a very honest guy who tells it how it is,but can only work with the fit players at his disposal. We all have to realise that he is doing his best when he could have left us.

I know quigleys posted on Instagram last night a pic in a room where he tagged town house.... So I presume some did.Craigthered wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:32 pm Did the players travel up last night or do they travel on match day since covid. Looked like they couldn't be bothered tonight.

Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
trouble is Ian most clubs in this league are big ,athletic and well organised (John Goodwin) mentioned this to me before this season started and the longer we went on without getting a midfield general , goalscorer I knew deep down we'd struggle (not as bad as we have) i just think we lack quality not the effort!Big E wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:49 pm Good things about tonight; the pitch is recovering well and the flags look good.

Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
Like previously pointed out - Harrogate are our bogey team ! We really struggle against them (well most tbh)
J.Taylor ran out of steam in this game, J.Jones abd Brough were poor, Dixon had a bad night and didn't help with the goal by hugging his post ! I don't get Nlthe and Barry playing on.the wings as they don't offer a real attacking threat. Devitt needs to start behind the front 2 but I'd be tempted to start with a frony 3 on Saturday and go for the win ! I'd rather lose fighting than sitting back like tonight. We can still get out of this and i hope we do !!!!

Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
Losing 0 - 1 or by a single goal, as we have in 6 of the last 7 losses, is the same difference as being thumped, as you get 0 points either-way. At least if we manage to score a freaking goal once in a blue moon, there is something to cheer about! I'd rather lose 3 - 4 or 4 - 6, rather than 0 - 1, as we have in 4 of the last 5 losses. The other loss was 1 - 2. Hey, if we are going down, let's do so by playing some attacking, attractive football to actually try and WIN a game and not to try and play NOT TO LOSE. Have our Managers never heard of the expression, 'Offence is the best form of defence'. From now on, we MUST secure 3 points in several games. 1 point won't cut it! IF we are heading south, let's go down fighting, so we can hold our heads up high and then we can say that we gave it our best shot! PS: I believe we'll stay up..Pedro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:05 pm The damage was done early in the season with Dunn then Jollys signings.
I thought we would do well to get a draw Muldoon always gets a break away.
We have a team missing a decent midfielder to link play up as well as being short of another decent forward.
We have just got to stick with it.I think Kelly is doing the best with what he has got .
Let's remember he inherited this team and has to set up to play with what he has got.The tactic seems to be defend and try and pinch a goal so let's keep of his back and support the team.
To those who have followed for any length of time where are the big guns like Stafford,Kettering etc.
We may not be winning but we are not getting thumped.

Well, that will stop us going down then!

Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
To be fair Rob Kelly pointed out in his interview that everyone is in the same boat really this season with so much football BUT you do wonder if we would be struggling the same with Platt, Kay and Hardcastle fit and available every weekblue nige wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:37 pmto be fair they'll be shattered because of injuries lack of quality we're playing the same 11 all the time you can't keep doing this or you get what we saw tonight!Craigthered wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:32 pm Did the players travel up last night or do they travel on match day since covid. We have the team we have and before people get on the Boards back they made mistakes but remember they stepped forward and saved the club
I said we would be lucky to get a draw as these are our bogey team,Saturday I think we will have a better chance let's back them.
Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
I said a week ago. Apart from the two previous managerial appointments, getting rid of Angus could prove to be the biggest mistake this season. Yes he was a bit hit and miss but he had pace in abundance, was an outlet and was proven to work well with Quigley given some game time together. Who the hell sanctioned that?

Re: BARROW v Harrogate match thread
Ha can't believe you of all people have a go about criticising people in charge! you're right they saved the club but I honestly believe we might not recover from relegation ( unless they're prepared to throw thousands of pounds to get us back in the league) Stockport, York they went straight down to conference north and Halifax nearly folded, it's serious and I'll still be there next season but if we go down you know the stick the board will get will be merciless !Pedro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 10:06 pmYes we need to back him.blumooncrab wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:54 pm Rob Kelly- great interview Adam
