Sky hooks were taken away...H&S issues apparently. Long stands are still very popular but the tartan paint never looked right on Trident, bad idea that one plus PerthBluebird wants matching blue.McMark wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 3:33 pmThe yard used to be full of sky hooks, long stands and tartan paint back in the day. We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

My only grumble about the camera gantry (and i will probably get called out for it) is that the leading edge of the pop side roof is in the camera shot when viewing down the touchline and anything off the touchline down the pop side is out of view. If it had been put up just 1m closer to the edge the camera view would have been totally clear of the roof. Just saying.

The ground and environments look pretty poor from the gantry unfortunately. Lock-up containers, construction equipment, the aforementioned partial paintwork and the desolate wasteground of Brady’s as a backdrop. Work is in progress obviously but could we lose those portable goals located between the main stand and the Holker End?
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Portable goals are required for EFL rules sadly for warm up purposes

If you look to the right you will see how nice the reservoir is as a backdrop. Isn't Brady's waste ground going to have houses built on it? It amazes me how much detail people notice whilst watching a football match. I know it hasn't been mesmerising football but I just make a cup of tea or do some ironing if it gets that bad.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:34 pm The ground and environments look pretty poor from the gantry unfortunately. Not sure who you mean by “these lot”. I don’t think anyone takes it as a personal attack but the problem with you and your posts are half of the time we don’t know what you’re talking about and then it takes half a dozen more posts to get to your point.PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 6:22 pmBrace jonty any kind of idea these lot take it as a personal attack , its a bit like painting your bottom window ledge but not your topsJonty wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 5:40 pm My only grumble about the camera gantry (and i will probably get called out for it) is that the leading edge of the pop side roof is in the camera shot when viewing down the touchline and anything off the touchline down the pop side is out of view. The painting of the roof was NOT done by us, and to do what you are asking is a huge job for someone to undertake. Having said that we are looking at ways of tidying up the edge that everyone sees on the ifollow games.
Then you mentioned the disabled fanzone which took two or three days to sort.
The planned new changing facilities was another one of your hard to understand posts. We’re made up of retirees and volunteers who have full or P/T jobs, we basically do maintenance (GMV - ground MAINTENANCE volunteers) with the odd small building job thrown in. We do not construct million £ changing facilities. Then to top it off when one of the lads tried to explain the possible cost you got all “clever” with him by saying he’d made it up.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I appreciate that Adam and like the frost covers they perform an essential function, however they do not look good abandoned on the touchlines for the game. As I said in an earlier post, the ground currently does not look great from the gantry position in my opinion. However, I'm sure we all agree this is neither here nor there right now; converesely, the ground looks just fine when stood in the Holker End. A question of perspective then.

I have a great idea, just skip past this thread and save us having to try and explain things to someone who clearly hasn’t a clue.
Painting roofs and building changing facilities...FFS!
