It will be interesting to hear what they say about the disallowed penalty on the highlights program tonight. If VAR has been in place the penalty would have been allowed.Any other year there would have been a replay. Why should the Premier League be able to alter the rules of the competition when they are a separate organization?Little old Barrow cheated against again, first by the referee and secondly by the Premier League.

I hope Mark Cooper and the board put in an official complaint about the referee's handling of the game and back it up with video evidence if each incident. In my opinion he shouldn,t have been put in that position as he was obviously not competent.

With 9 goals and a sending off to show, the missed penalty won`t get a mention, many forum members will be happy Zanzala has gone on loan so not all bad news today.

Let’s stop playing the victim. The first goal was appalling marking. Beadling got rightly sent off and that affected the players energy in extra time. We knew before the game there wasn’t replays.

That second half will never ever be forgotten by anyone who was there; not sure I’ve ever seen anything like that in person before
Absolutely convinced with Robbie Gotts and a striker we’d have won today; when you consider the players who actually played it’s just a ridiculously incredible effort, will take a long time to get over the no replay situation. Fantastic support, fantastic on the field, just didn’t quite get what we deserved

You may criticise some of the defending ...and some of the positioning at times ... but, overall, that was a remarkable show of determination, effort and endeavour against the odds ... one which shows the strength of the spirit in and around the team ...and a mindset that really does augur well for the forthcoming fight to rise up the table . Well done to the 10 men ... and also to the others who contributed ...including the fans who made the journey in numbers. With an attitude like that ...it would be remarkable if we ended the season saying ...well, we tried our best but didn't make it . I never expected this to be an easy game ... but on this showing, this team ( possibly with a couple of additions and those recovering from injury ) will make it.
First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )

Indeed, in fact I don't think the ref was too bad today, the two penalty shouts were very dubious and I'd have been very upset if they'd been awarded against us. In fact, at the time the only thing I thought he got wrong was the sending off, but having seen the replay I can see why he showed the red.

Proud as I could be of every single one of them. What a fight second half. If we can take half of that spirit forward into the season we will be fine.

Adam, you and Goody did us proud too. Nearly crashed the car at 4-4. Insane.

I am hoarse from being there today (but probably not as much as Adam - brilliant as usual on the highlights I have seen). Still buzzing - it felt like a win, not a loss, coming back from 2 down, with 10 men. To be honest, whilst the ref let some things go, I don’t think it was a penalty (it was right in front of us in the Barrow end - would have been very happy to get it though) and it looked like a red card even from half a pitch away. If Beadling had stayed on it would have been a different game, but maybe being down to 10 gives a different psychology, nothing to lose and all that? Fantastic Barrow support, but embarrassingly low Barnsley attendance.
We can now focus on putting that spirit and effort into the rest of the season!

One goal out of 9 on the tv ain’t bad I suppose

For those that stayed up to watch this is how it should have sounded:

It’s hard to stomach isn’t it.

IMHO it’s another example of favouring the greedy 6 over everybody else.

Can’t stop watching it! Thanks Adam (and Goody) for a passionate, but always fair and professional, commentary.

Its a game if you were there you will never forget, I feel drained and my voice has gone but so proud of my team could not have given more ,feel a bit cheated by the ref and lineman but the team put the pride back in Barrow.
