Aye, that's why I said the club. Know its nowt to do with yous
Here’s a professional ball stop netting and post system that would do the job. Suggesting it as consideration for a dedicated fan fundraiser or if the Trust could host and promote a fundraising link like they did for the flag last season for fan contributions. It’s not cheap- Coming in at £870 for a 20ft (h)x 50ft. (L) socketed system but would protect fans in the fanzone from stray shots…what you reckon folks….

🤔Maybe we could trade the Kelly’s Heroes flag in with Wigan.
Probably get away with one half that height tbh due to the fencing already up. Also half that price through Amazon

I dunno, have you seen dome of those wayward shots in pre match... Was thinking it could be socketed in behind the crossbar terrace wall within the fanzone, but sure the GMV team would help with size needed.

Most of the height would then be redundant as it would be covered by the wall and the fence in top.

It would probably need to be in front of or immediately behind the perimeter wall to maximise its effectiveness and removed after warmups, as at Valley Parade, for example.

A team of net volunteers may need to be formed...

The view of an area of the pitch in the away fans corner has been getting a bit of stick (and rightly so) on social media lately so we’ve done the best we can for the remaining part of the season. It’s not ideal but it’s probably something the club need to look at when/if Stadium Solutions come in when the season ends. One more visit and we’ll blank the bottom triangle off.

None of this would’ve been needed if sections of both home and away support didn’t throw coins etc at each other….& that would’ve been problem solved.

If the initial problem is with people chucking stuff then Stewards should get in there and remove the miscreants; others would soon get the message.
That's the solution surely and is what they do in any other ground that I have been to and when you think about it, isn't it why the club have installed CCTV cameras?

I don’t know who makes the decisions on these things but surely there are better solutions than perspex screens, scaffolding and heavy grade hessian sheets.

Why not use Segregation netting - (advertising opportunity) that can be moved easily. Why do we have to over do everything?

Hopefully can be sorted in summer.

Probably because the useless stewards and police that stand at the segregation need a hard barrier to feel protected against away fan adults so they can bully kids from barrow instead or threaten to throw home fans our for standing on the yellow line without having to do anything to away fans

I’m only querying why they have used spud sack grade material for segregation sheeting when there is proper ball stop netting out there and proper segregation netting. I’m just querying that decision to use more expensive and introduce even more more obstructed views with scaffolding and fabricated frames for perspex sheeting. I just don’t get some of these decisions that to me are over the top and likely more costly and labour intensive to install and remove. Not to mention the fact that away fans have to pay full price for the pleasure.

I wasn’t questioning your thinking or anything like that I was more enquiring that …if…Your circumstances allow you’d probably enjoy helping out from time to time & you would then see first hand the way they tackle these things & the hoops they have to jump through, nothing more.

Again because you seem to be very interested that’s all fella.

We’ll be having a flying visit to the ground on Saturday morning, purely a clean up job. If anyone would like to spend a couple of hours cleaning up others rubbish you'd be more than welcome. 9:00am onwards.
Elaine will be making brews and serving biscuits during the morning.

If you could pm, text of e-mail me if you are available that’d be a great help to us.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
