It is feasible that if we fit a lesser number of seats than has been stipulated that the club could apply for an extension to the time limit for the full quota required if we can justify the delay.Clubs have I am told been given extra leeway for improvements in the past.

Asking for extensions is a dangerous game to play, the last thing we need is survive on the pitch but be kicked out.

I feel there's always the risk too that one of the relegated clubs attempts to use legal action to reverse a decision to give extra time to get seats in. Even if unsuccessful, it would lead to uncertainty going into the following season and make planning (including offering contracts) more difficult.

As long as the planning applications and paper work are completed before the final game of the season then they can complete it during the summer ahead of next season

I've not seen anything in the regulations permitting this, can you point me in the right direction?

Chaps I wondered if we have worked out if this is the case ? Possibly no need to worry about rushing to get those seats in after all.

We are all second guessing. It would be good if the club or trust rep on the board (who i understand had been project managing this) could give fans an update and clarify what is actually happening

I think it's pretty shocking to be fair that we're this far into the close season and none the wiser as to what is going on, particularly since some kind of work seems to have started and particularly given that Paul Hornby promised a major announcement about 3 or 4 months ago. Why the silence from the club? Not just on this topic but on everything, it's quite concerning.

Current away capacity is circa 550. If we could add 500 seats to that in the close season next to the main stand we have potentially 7-8 fixtures who i think could easily sell their 1000 allocation (depending on being Saturday fixtures) so it would make sense to go for even a temporary seating structure (the sort you see at Golf / GP’s and rent it for the season) if we are struggling to finalise plans for a more permanent solution. At an optimistic stab at revenue- 500 extra full price away fans for 7 home fixtures would bring in circa £60k ticket revenues. This gives the club time to do something with the Crossbar End during the playing season. (Ie add the extra 500 seats along this end- corner to corner).

Don't forget- having 1000 away fans brings in additional requirements for more turnstiles, facilities, match day management etc and will need a risk assessment and passing through the stadium management authorities and all that sort of stuff. I presume someone will be on it.

Arguably, no. The close season is as important as the season itself, particularly when you've just had a season as awful as our last one.

To somehow try and explain the god awful communication away like that stinks of Barrow attitude and is exactly why we are still very much non-league in many ways.

There are a fixed number of turnstiles at Holker Streetfor away support. There will however be a need to have both of the away turnstiles manned each game to stop bottlenecks occurring . Shouldn't be a problem if scanners are working and we have enough regular volunteers

Most of the other clubs didn't have covid to deal with and the dead time and loss of income that produced. I would have thought that the EFL would be receptive to such circumstances.
