Sad to hear the passing of long Standing Barrow supporter Derek McCormick or Lou which many knew him by, was a regular in the Crossbar before games for many years around the bar area, worked in the yard and many will remember him or would have heard him, think he worked in the Sheet Metal Department & Painting Department before retirement. RIP Lou & God Bless.

Yes, I remember 'Lou' well. You always knew he was there long before you saw him-lived around the Warwick Street area I think, nice fella.

Lived two doors away from me in Newport St. in 70’s before moving to Settle St. His wife worked in Woolworths, but she died quite a few years ago. Remember giving him my condolences at Lancashire Cup Final at Morecambe when Accrington beat us 2-0. RIP Lou.

He was part of the furniture for so many years - always said hello when I saw him in the Cross Bar, usually nursing a pint and looking out of the windows at the pre-match routines playing out below.

Lou was a favourite of Paul Casson.
When the Crossbar was refurbished Lou was invited to cut the ribbon to declare it open.
A great character who will be sadly missed.
