We have improved massively from last season and the manager and team will turn this blip around. We are still creating chances and pressed Tranmere for quite a good few periods of the game, we competed and were not outclassed, for the record I thought George Ray deserved MOM.

People need to get a grip here and see what has been achieved over the last few years and the improvements that Pete and his team have implemented this season. Yes there has been some poor performances and some players look tired but that’s what transfer windows are for to freshen the team up and make the squad have to fight for places. With regards to the swearing I don’t blame pete, when I have to listen to some of the comments the terrace guardiola’s come out with it blows my mind. We have come a long way from getting beat in front of 800 fans in non league and thinking that’s a good gate. Just enjoy the ride.

Could well be new fans we have gained since our promotion to the EFL and expect a better standard of football after two awful seasons, the long high ball should have been left behind in the national leagues, regarding swearing Hawkes told fans to f-off in the north west terrace in first half but didn`t get upset about it, all part of the game some would say.

On the plus side we still created a few chances and enough to take something, but not taking them and conceding horrendous goals as we did isn't a good combination. Rochdale is a bit of a must win now or else confidence will take a further hit and then a bump in the road becomes more than just a blip or a bump, Mansfield after that too and we don't fare too well against them either.

Regarding chances, the half time shot stats were Barrow 9, Tranmere 3.

Still fuming about last night so thought I'd cheer myself up and watch the highlights on YouTube ,the first goal Canavan is stood marking NO ONE Brough points to him telling him why didn't he head it !, (this is ironic when it comes to the second goal) it's like we're Zonal marking!, the second is a comedy of errors, first Tom White gets out muscled then nutmegged , then Whitfield makes a half hearted challenge and Brough then backs off making no attempt to cut out the cross ,this is about commitment and basic defending this isn't good enough at any standard of football!

Before I saw the goals yesterday I anticipated that at least one would be down to not showing enough desire to win the ball, or that we’d be outjumped or outfought at a set piece. The one time you back off or leave it for someone else that’s when you let the opposition in. Both goals avoidable. I’m more concerned with our defensive lapses in games (as a defensive unit) than chances at the other end.

Absolutely. That's the area that needs the most attention and it has for some time now. Not necessarily by bringing in new players (although that might help), but by coaching the present ones to do what they are paid for, which is to defend, not constantly back off.

I think we do need to keep a sense of perspective. And booing at this stage I just don't get at all. I also think we need to be better vocally at home.

Equally though...its the basic daft errors and our form is poor. After such a start.

Last season in the away support the only time we collectively lost it was at Crawley which I think was justified and deserved. It also had an impact.

Constant grousing, PW snapping back etc is going to create a negative cycle.

Everyone, manager included, needs to give themselves a wee shake. Imho

It’s the pattern of results that has probably contributed to the reaction. So many wins followed by so many losses. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the overall picture and the goals we set ourselves at the start of the season.

Personally even during the earlier period of the season I never lost the habit of tracking us against the bottom two. Let’s not forget that stat. We are 20 points clear of relegation with half a season gone. That would be considered a great position in any other season.

Because of this we probably have the luxury of time to sort matters out. Something we haven’t had since Evatt and properly not since Daz n Dave.

Taken in isolation, the defeat yesterday would be just put down to an off day at home. We didn't play all that badly, just couldn't put the ball in the net. I think the thing that gets us wound up is that the same thing has been hapening for several weeks, ie giving an early goal away, spending much of the time ouitplaying the opposition and failing to score. It seems a bit like a broken record at the moment.

At the end of the day, people need to remember that we are in a much better than we and everyone else expected us to be in at New Year.

Yes we haven’t had a great run of games recently and performances have dropped, but are they performing higher than what we expected? I’d say yes! So let’s give them a break and get behind them, we will get out of this rut, but the team need us cheering them right now, not booing them.

Just remember where we expected to be against where we are.
