Good to hear, I think we know the ones who will be offered terms and not accepted yet. Brough / Gordon.

If they aren’t 100% committed like Gotts / Farman were signing early I’m not interested. Move them on

Gotts and Farman only signed early because there will have been no other major interest in them - nothing to do with being more committed.

Oh, so they signed because they are 100% committed to Barrow and wouldn’t entertain any other offers. Don’t be silly.

Gordon and Brough are probably the only players with potentially lucrative deals from other clubs on the table. If Gotts and Farman were in the same boat, they would also be dragging their feet.

But yeah, we should bin off two of our best players because they aren’t “committed” enough.

Correct glad you understood. Neither are in-replaceable.
Gotts and Farman signing early clearly shows they’re committed. If you think they wouldn’t have had interest if they left it like others have your silly.

Get on with recruitment with players who actually want to be here not waiting for other players bargaining with other clubs and us as a fall back.

The players are selling their labour, they are entitled to sign new contracts as quickly or as slowly as they want.

Wild obviously doesn’t mind, seeing as he’s carried on picking them both when fit.

Quite agree. Presumably the deadline that Wild has set should deter them from doing that, and it means if they haven't committed themselves by that date, then he goes out and find someone - hopefully better - that will! :)

You believe Gotts or Farman would still be here if there was interest from bigger clubs, that’s fine. Naive but fine.

If Gordon or Brough leave it to the day of the deadline to put pen to paper, I’d be happy to see them back in the team.

Be good if we keep these two but cannot see it.
At the end of the day both gave 100% whilst with us and its all about them getting g the best deal for themselves.

Out Of contract

Patrick Brough – probably on way to Wrexham
Mark Ellis - release
Josh Gordon – likes playing for Wild, but Walsall tried to sign him in January - he will receive offers from elsewhere - will probably leave.
Joe Grayson - release
Josh Kay – brilliant on his day. infuriating at other times. Offer him a one year deal?
Josh Lillis – Hope he stays as coach but feel he should be third choice keeper (agreed)
Scott Maloney – release and replace with Will Stanway
David Moyo – release
Solomon Nwaboukei – Keep - and play him in the Neal role v Stevenage
Benni Smales-Braithwaite – Keep I rate him. Can see him going out on loan again if he does stay but that loan should then be to someone in the top Conference division (agreed)
Jason Taylor – retire as a player with a final appearance against Burnley in the Lancs cup final.
Tom White – offer him a 2 year deal
Pavel Zuk – Keep but like Benni should be loaned out (to Oldham) – 1 year contract

In Contract

Richie Bennett (to summer 2024) – release if possible
Niall Canavan (to summer 2024)
Paul Farman (to summer 2024)
Rory Feeley (to summer 2024)
Ged Garner (to summer 2025)
Robbie Gotts (to Summer 2025)
Elliot Newby (to summer 2024)
George Ray (to summer 2024)
Tyrell Warren (to summer 2024)
Ben Whitfield (to summer 2024) - keep - but we might get an offer from L1 for him
Sam Foley (to summer 2024)

On Loan

Sam McClelland - love to keep but won’t happen (agreed)
Harrison Neal – If released by Sheff United sign him up.
Jake Young – return to Bradford
Lancashire;- born and bred

as for signings;-

1 young Goalie (Stanway)
2 Quick Forwards plus a target man - at least one of which will be from NL/NLN or NLS.*
2 central defenders - preferably one right footed and 1 left footed.
1 left back
and whatever else we need after the released list comes out

*Inih Effiong (was very raw when he was here years ago), Gold Omotaya (Kings Lynn), Kurt Willoughby (Chester), Dominic Poleon (Ebbsfleet) are examples. (Wild has been watching the NL/NLN or NLS play off's this week)

This summer’s recruitment is crucial, this is point where we show the others L2 clubs that this season wasn’t a fluke and that we’ll kick on from here. We know the football world are expecting us to be near the bottom.

If we can survive again next season at least we’ll be able to benefit from the EFL’s new TV and the increased parachute payments should we have a bad season.

I’d love to see us in L1 though, it would be amazing to see some of the teams up there, I wonder what Derby would make of HS! I suspect this is what PW wants and is working towards.

Great shout with Willoughby, he’s 25 so his best years are to come; already NW based so that’s that box ticked; realistic signing.

Give over Willoughby is conference north. I would be very disappointed if that’s the level of striker we are looking at
