He is hardly going to give his job up in BAE to go and train with Barrow for a fraction of what he is probably earning now.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:42 am I don’t think anyone is suggesting sign him, put him straight into the team. Maybe a season being in and around the squad, Wild and coaching staff working with him, even loan him him back to Kendal for a season on the understanding he trains with Barrow .

Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
That’s a great point. If he’s at Bae he’ll be developing a set of skills, perhaps gaining qualifications. He’ll have a career.
Football can be a recreation as well as a profession. Signing for Kendal (North West Counties?) does not mean that he’s set his sights on climbing the greasy pole of football fame.

Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
He couldn't train with barrow as he has a full time job don't think he would give that up to play for a b teamDesmond2-2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:42 am I don’t think anyone is suggesting sign him, put him straight into the team. Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
Another hatrick for Bailey yesterday, that's 13 in 8 games.
Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
Simple answer would be to sign him then loan him back to Kendal for an initial three months with an option to extend to the seasons end . Any other way would be a waste of time given at present we are top heavy with strikers. Of course we could do what many on here want and just forget he exists but you can bet anything his current record will have been noticed and someone else will take a gamble.

Are you his agent? Never good enough!
Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
no ones ignoring his current record. there are levels to football, you do know that right? ive played with Bailo, could he play at a higher standard than Kendal? i recon so. could he play at Barrows level? nope. Some people just dont realise how good you need to be to play at that level. look who we've just signed!SKIPPER wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 7:27 pm Simple answer would be to sign him then loan him back to Kendal for an initial three months with an option to extend to the seasons end . you've got to really be in football circles and for it be your profession to get to that level. id hazard a guess the B Team players will be on no where near what Bailo earns in the yard
the thread just stink of 'hes local' lets get him in

Blimey.it doesn't take much to get knickers in a twist on this 'ere forum. Firstly you might just scroll back to page one and see that I did not initiate the thread. Secondly I don't know the lad, have never seen him play (except on video clips) and am certainly not his agent (to answer a stupid question). I will hold my hand up and bow to the greater knowledge of people with positive answers to the first two.My opinion was based purely on statistical fact. 13 goals in 8 games (another one yesterday) in a Kendal team who have been the Aunt Sally's of semi-pro football in Cumbria for the last decade or more and are now six points clear at the top of the table. Nobody is saying lets sign him because he is local. It is the opposing view that sticks in my craw. You could field at least two teams of talented locals who have passed through HS in the years I have been supporting the team. Yet to listen to people you'd think that anyone from the Furness area has some form of genetic malfunction that prevents them ever being any good.I rest my case and won't comment further

Two teams of talented locals who have passed through HS, Can forum members named these players who have made at least one appearance or more in the First Division/Premier League or Football League that we never looked at.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:15 am Blimey.it doesn't take much to get knickers in a twist on this 'ere forum. Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
Tell PW that local talent is no good, he has had a chat with Bailey. Morecambe and Barrow are interested. Nobody is saying he is anywhere near the standard required for Div2 but with the B team and coaching could be. Worth a gamble imo.
Re: Have Barrow looked at this lad?
Said i wouldn't comment further but would just like to put btg straight as i think he may have taken me literally and misconstrued what i said. I did not mean two teams of locals 'missed' by the club but two teams of locals who have actually worn the shirt and even he cannot argue with that.
