Can you still see the old roof colour on TV? If you can then we’ll move the paint line further back.
Not all the way along, just the bits nearest the camera. Wish I'd got a photo to show

Sorry, don't mean to be over-critical
No, that’s fine…I’m not taking it as a criticism, at least we know and will sort it in the coming weeks.

Do you mean directly under/in front of the camera viewpoint or to the side looking at the Steelworks end?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

It was just to the side, but looking both ways

Short highlights are on ifollow now. If you watch you will see issue on both sides at various points

It seemed that there was something different about the position of the camera last night (further right? further forward? higher?) and once or twice we could see another camera to the left and the occasional hand, neither of which I have noticed before.

Overall, the impression on iFollow was much better with the straight line of the 'new' colour - well done, all. As you explained before, the side to the right of the gantry remains to be done.

Got it 😁 TBF, we were running out of time and it was red hot up there so we thought that bit “would do for the time being”
Anyway, it’ll be sorted.

Thanks for pointing it out and explaining.

The club have asked us to take on quite a big job (possibly the biggest we’ve ever done) and part of the prep work will include removing a lot of rubbish and items that are no longer needed or used from under the main stand. This is where we really need a bit of help - does anyone have a car/vehicle with a tow bar and a few spare hours tomorrow morning? The two options we have are the skip, quite a distance from the stand, or the tip.
Anything we can do to help save money for the club we’re more than happy to do but without some help on this one we’re going to struggle.
Also an opportunity for you to see some of the jobs that we’ve done over the years that you normally wouldn’t get to see.
If you can help can you either reply on here, pm me or e-mail me at ianrainford@aol.com
Brews and refreshments will be dished out during the morning.

One more thing, many thanks to the forum member (anon) who has recently donated £100 to the kitty, also the people who continue to drop their DDs into the account, it really is appreciated.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Thanks for the update Ian, sterling work as ever by you all.
Can you share what the project is?

Not sure Neil, I don’t think it’s anything too secretive but I suppose it’s best left to the club mate. I’ll find out and if we can I’ll post an update.

Having said that, it looks like we’re going to struggle even starting this off if no one can come forward with a car & tow bar, it won’t stop the work but it’ll definitely make it harder for us. Surely one person reading this has a car with a tow bar or a small van!

Perhaps if nobody on here can assist, the club could, on behalf of the GMV, put out an appeal to the wider fan-base via its website and social media channels. Should not prove to be too difficult.

Finally…..we found the time to put the flagpole up. This took ten people all morning because as with everything at HS….it’s never straight straight forward. Anyway, it’s now done, all 43 feet of it - and towers above the main building.

The flag you can see is one we borrowed from the HSE, which will go back shortly. That’s our bit done, the next bit will be a new flag, a big one. I don’t know how much they cost but we can’t really use money donated for maintenance projects so we were hoping for contributions through here or perhaps a local business. If you could contribute or you know of a business that might like to be involved could you reply on here or PM me please? It doesn’t have to be a big donation, twenty smaller ones will go a long way.

I’ll start the donations off.

:scarf: Just passed the ground and it was a nice sight to see a flag flying again at Barrow AFC headquarters although in a new home at the Steelworks end of the ground.
Who was the one that realised you had it upside down to start with

Well I have banged on about it for long enough so a donation from me for a worthy cause.
Well done to those who managed to get it erected at long last. Another job ticked off.
That flag sends out a message
We Are Barrow AFC.
Beware any low flying aircraft.😅
