Whoever told you it was one of Barrows poorest games "behind the goals", hasn't watched many Barrow performances in recent years, absolutely ridiculous statement

Just going by the Forum comments from the game and those that attended, many said we were rubbish.

I thought we played well just disappointing in both boxes. We will play much worse than that this season and win games. I do think some fans expect to much. Players in division 2 are there for a reason and it's the word consistency that is key. Many lack it and it's only those with the big budgets as the table is now showing who have more of it. Its no coincidence that four of the top five in league 2 are the leagues biggest spenders.

Agree MSST. We are playing more consistently now in this division than we have since our return. It’s simply that expectations have risen rather more so.

Comparing this season with last also doesn’t help. We over-performed early on but then underperformed later in the season. More exciting perhaps but less stable.

If you don’t have money to throw at the challenge then the only way you can improve is incrementally.. PW has always talked about a three year plan to get us to our optimum and we are now not even at the half way point.

I was as frustrated as anyone else after 90 minutes on Saturday but on the whole we are still on an upward curve. But the further up that curve we get the steps become harder and progress slower.

It must also be noted that a 'slack handful' of Tranmere supporters paused their early exit from the main stand to hurl dog's abuse at their Manager that night. As things turned out they must have been in emotional turmoil all the way back to Birkenhead and possibly in need of counselling. Me, l just had to laugh and masochistically enjoy another 'only at Barrow' moment; wherever your loyalties may lie, it was something to behold.

I've only seen the highlights, so can't comment on the overall performance, but some of the passing and movement looked slick as it has done at times in the last month imo.

It's like building a car, you have to get the bits together in the right order to get it working correctly. We might not have a completed car yet, but the signs are showing we are well on the way.

I was at that famous game at Kettering back in the day when Gazza got his marching orders. This prompts me to ask the question- who else has been sacked after a defeat to Barrow?

I think there must have been a few.. I believe Paul Cook was fired at Ipswich directly after our FA Cup triumph a couple of years ago.

I was wondering the same. Gazza was the only one that came to mind. [edit: having just looked it up, Paul Cook had gone before we beat them in the replay, but he was sacked after the initial 0-0 draw at Ipswich.]

Graham coughlan was sacked pretty much straight after the final whistle when we beat Mansfield 4-2 in the Covid season

All the Mansfield press were stood waiting to do the post match interview with him but instead got a bit of paper handed to them to say he wouldn’t be attending press duties before later being told exactly why

Think this game was the tipping point, but has it been too hasty? They aren’t cut adrift at the bottom and I think he’s got a reasonable record in management given time. You could argue that we have done it with Dunn and Jolley who were both terrible appointments but we took a gamble as they never came with decent records whereas I think Graham Alexander has had success and has managed promotion winning sides.
I don’t know what the expectations are on MK Dons as a club because they have an oversized stadium compared to fanbase. Must be costing them a fortune to run that stadium.
As PW said. The first season at a struggling club is all about dealing with crisis management and inheriting a team. That’s where GA was with MK Dons. Will be their 4th Manager I think in a couple of seasons.
