Enjoyable night in the end, was very tempted to bottle it after a long day at work but made the relatively shorter journey of 70 miles to forest green. Got out of the car and on the walk to the ground was behind a group of forest green fans discussing how many they’d beat us by today. That went well for them!

I thought for the first half the two goal lead flattered us, on another night fgr could have gone into the break 2/3 up. A Nice poachers goal from Telford to get off the mark and a deflected strike from foley ( they all count) gave us the lead. Considering we was almost playing with a 3-6-1 formation I couldn’t believe how easily they were carving us open every time they went forward. Second half was much more balanced and less eventful thankfully. Very professional job in the end and a nice well earned 3 points.

Farman was excellent tonight, made some huge saves. Chester is getting better game by game, I can’t think of many better centre half pairings in the league then our back 3. Newby looks a different player this season too, very good to see.
Not really convinced by worral from what I’ve seen of him, probably needs to be played higher up doesn’t look like a wing back at all.

Very nitpicky I know, but a back three can’t be a “pairing”, but I know what you mean. Chester, Ray and Canavan have been very good in the last two games.

Well Farman has saved us alot

Far better keeper than Joel Dixon who is now on the bench for Hartlepool.I only raise that because I got stick for saying he was not good enough.
Recent games we have been the nearly men finally we come good against FGR.
Needs to be followed up against Salford and Morecambe .

FORZA BLUEBIRDS, very happy with that win, two home games on the bounce now so let’s make sure we keep that unbeaten record intact. When l look at the league and see three heavyweights at the top l think the club are doing brilliant to be where we are, playoffs would be fantastico. Bluebird per sempre.

Was a strange watch wasn’t it, very good away performance, FGR are the worst I’ve seen this season, chaotic with no structure to their play, definitely going down. We mustn’t get carried away, Salford and Morecambe are both playing well. Looking forward to 2 home crackers. Well done all tonight. Back 5/6 excellent, Telford scoring, worral just not for me.

I've seen worse than FGR

We were lucky to win last night if we are being honest. They dominated much of the game. I don't think they'll go down - yes they were slightly chaotic at times, but definitely a very open team who will score and concede a lot

FGR were half decent going forward, so to come away with 3pts was fantastic. Deflected goal lucky? Not for me, you don't shoot you don't score. A DESERVED victory and Farman was exceptional

They looked decent to me and I'd be surprised if they threaten the relegation spots. Deeney faded after a very bright opening and the lad Maddox was excellent.
I certainly don't think we were lucky. We did what others have done to us in the past: score a couple and then invite us to try and break them down. They got through a couple of times but that's why you have a goalkeeper. Job done.

On a side note, I'd usually expect to see comment from ex-Barrovian and now FGR supporter @Fartvs Antiqvvs but he is strangely silent. Hope he's OK.
Don't let the old man in.

Not having that they’re the worst we’ve played this season. They scored 5 at home last week and created chances for fun in the first half. That game could of gone either way last night

Think we’re overdue a little luck
You gotta make your own luck in this game, through graft, commitment, dedication, desire etc. all the things we haven’t had for the last 3 seasons. The team reap their rewards tonight, and deservedly so.
Did you not go last season ?

Exactly, if you don’t buy a ticket you don’t win the raffle!

On the face of it Morecambe are the form team with 4 wins from their last 5, but it's worth noting that those four wins were against the teams who are currently the bottom four in the table.

Old Fartus seems to be alive and well as he commented on the FGR forum that they had been sunk by a Trident submarine (I think he was born in Barrow but moved down there?).
