Round 2 TV Matches

Really think its unfair Maidstone v Barrow is not being shown. Apart from the TV money (good for us but I would imagine brilliant for Maidstone), this game seems to be the only one looked over as a non league v EFL team clash particularly as the non league team are at home. Quite right Alfreton v Walsall (for the second time) is being shown plus Eastleigh v Reading, winners of Chester or York v Wigan. Wimbledon v Ramsgate (fine as Ramsgate are the lowest tier team in the competition). But Wrexham v Yeovil - give me a break but we all know why. Hope a certain ex manager of ours gets a result there. But the treatment of us and Maidstone stinks.

Agree entirely. But broadcasters think only of their customers and their revenue. Wrexham tick that box. And when they beat Yeovil and draw a championship or Prem club in the next round, guess who will be first in line for a live 3rd round tie.

Most people that watch football on TV will not have a clue about who they are watching outside of the top six names. But they all know about Wrexham because of their owners. To them Wrexham is Hollywood. End of story.

When we played Boro and Sunderland those games were not televised live. If we got to the third round and drew Man City we may still not be televised and if we were it would be down to curiosity not interest.

No point fretting over it. More sorry for Maidstone in this situation.

Agree with all of the above and I too feel for Maidstone. (Although never liked the club when I lived near there always preferred Tonbridge their big rivals). Am not convinced the great British public will go out of their way to watch our Hollywood friends either particularly as its being shown on ITVX.

Wrexhams is an online stream it isn’t on tv itself. The reasoning behind it is simply they want maximum exposure for the stream which Wrexham’s band of international followers will bring

In a way it’s a compliment to us that we aren’t being televised - the only reason they generally televise non league club v football league is they sense an upset

I quite understand the Wrexham choice but quite frankly most football fans are fed up with the amount of exposure they are getting, in fact watching them is getting quite boring.

Why are people bothered.We could sneak through this cup under the radar,because clubs may underestimate the strength of the Bluebirds and as a result we may get through to the fourth round and get the big club some people seem to want and then it probably will be televised.More importantly,we play,Wrexham on New Years Day,so let's go there with a lot of supporters and show them that it takes more than money to win football matches,it takes team spirit and everyone pulling in the same direction and Barrow AFC with Pete Wild in charge have got it in spades.

Wrexham on TV again in the FA Cup versus Yeovil, and why not ? Yeovil themselves are known FA Cup giantkillers, so it wasn't really a surprise the tie was chosen. It will be a full house, again, with a great atmosphere, and not played in a half empty stadium. Like it or not, Wrexham are popular these days, and we sell out our allocation where ever we play, also ensuring the home club their highest gate, and revenue, that includes Barrow. ( 21000 for our game at Bradford, 17000 yesterday for your visit ! ). If you don't want to watch, don't tune in. Looking forward to your visit on New Years day, nearly 1200 tickets up for grabs, take it you'll sell out, like every other club, except Salford.

I can see Yeovil - who have a history of FA Cup upsets - knocking Wrexham out. Hope the TV cameras show a close up of those two Hollywood goons crying.

On the subject of our own tie. Are Maidstone still managed by the ex Spurs player? Is it Alan Mullery?

I wouldn't know, to be honest. I referred to Alan Mullery as I think it was him that I saw being interviewed when they were on TV a few years back. I remember him wearing a old cloth cap similar to the one Fred Else used to wear
