Re: Pete Wild
Josh Kay has the most yellow cards for Fylde this season (7 in total). Just the one goal however. Must be playing a less attacking role I presume?behind the goals wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 1:14 pm Pete is getting more bans and yellow cards than Josh Kay.

Re: Pete Wild
I can confirm that Pete is here in Sutton
He is allowed in the changing rooms before the game, at half time and at full time
However during the game he must be sat in the stands and can have no communication with the players on the pitch

Re: Pete Wild
Ha, how is that even a punishment? You can basically be the manager for the day but you need to sit down when the match is on.
Re: Pete Wild
It protects the delicate sensitivities of the officials. Times have changed - I am not sure if managers are any more vociferous than they used to be. Perhaps refs’ performances have become more frustrating, or they need thicker skins?
Not the same circumstances, but I remember a story years ago about Billy Bremner giving a ref lots of grief and the ref said to him:”You’re not having such a great game yourself Billy”

Re: Pete Wild
Is he allowed to be in communication with the staff on the touchline during the match, or is that banned as well?

Re: Pete Wild
Looking at the rules I posted earlier, he wouldn't be allowed communication with players or club officials while play is in progress.
Don't let the old man in.

Re: Pete Wild
It seems you can, as he was talking to one of your guys in the dugout. I assume he made all the substitution calls yesterday.Methuselah wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 9:38 am I seem to remember Alex Ferguson.getting s similar ban,but he was still able to pass down instructions from the stand.
Good luck for the remainder of the season.

Re: Pete Wild
Daft rule then. Much easier to abuse the officials from a crowd too.Amber SUFC wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 11:37 amIt seems you can, as he was talking to one of your guys in the dugout. Seem to come off our game when he’s not on the sideline. Hope he can keep his mouth shut for the rest of season.

Re: Pete Wild
The first incident at Colchester was beyond belief. Robbie Gotts had been violently fouled. No foul was given. Then the Colchester player Egbo got involved with our medical team, as if Robbie was play acting. Is it any wonder Pete was raging? You stick up for and protect your team/players. That was on the referee. He failed that day and caused what was to follow.BarrowLad71 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 4:02 pm Seem to come off our game when he’s not on the sideline. Against Accrington, the officials failed yet again and Pete lost his cool. It’s difficult when you are passionate and trying to protect your own players. It’s understandable for my view. We’re not all robots and able to keep calm at all times. If the officials did their job properly, these incidents wouldn’t happen. Simple as that.

Re: Pete Wild
It appears that something Pete Wild said "before" the Accrington game to the referee got him into trouble as well as what he said during the game. No excuse IMO if you're getting into trouble before a game. Needs to learn quickly.Cokey wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:19 pmThe first incident at Colchester was beyond belief.
