Bit of a long shot but worth asking I suppose.

This has been our main job for the last few months, it’s a corridor that will connect to the main corridor under the stand and will be used by the players families to allow them access to the new family room. This has been funded equally by the club and NSC with all the work being done by us. The corridor is now not too far off being finished but as you can see, the walls are bare. As always, we don’t want to spend money if there’s an alternative, so we were wondering if anyone has any of them excellent canvas prints Ste knocked out a few years back that they aren’t using that we could use?

If not, we’re open to other suggestions.

Could you not get someone to paint one of them there Muriel’s like Banksy Ian. 🤔One for the shipyard apprentices at the college perhaps.

Like in the players tunnel Mark? Not for me I’m afraid, and I don’t think anyone else involved in this would be too keen on that….might frighten the players children 😂

Pictures/canvas’s got the vote.

Firstly, a big thank you to a gentleman (who wishes to remain anon) for a very generous donation to our bank account this week, donations such as this make up about a third of our kitty and are so important for us to continue doing what we do.
Also, thank you to the people who continue to donate through DDs, again it’s a massive help. These allow us to plan projects as we know what is coming in.

Main stand users will notice two new additions in front of them as they approach the steps from the west terrace this weekend, these are the two doors - one allowing the stewards into their meeting area and the other is for away directors and players families to gain access to the new corridor we have been building so they can reach their rooms under the stand. We are a few weeks off the completing the corridor but it is already in use.
Some nice words off Iain Wood last weekend (who requested the work) “I didn't really know what to expect but it wasn’t this, this is a five star job, it’s like something out of a hotel, not under a football stand”
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

The 4 Monty Python Yorkshiremen would dream of living in a corridor like this if they were so lucky - "Luxury, pure luxury Obadiah".

Bit of a long shot but worth a try, does anyone have or know of someone who has a van capable of transporting four lengths of carpet from Carpet Right to the ground this morning? they aren’t heavy. I know they deliver but we need a time rather than an “approximate” time so we can arrange for help to put the carpet away & out of the weather.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorted thanks to Gareth & his mate.

Also thanks to the other GMV lads (including a couple of first timers) for turning up and helping us with a delivery of wood that is now safely tucked away.

This is the directors kitchen under the main stand and the recent wet weather had caused a serious leak through the stand and onto the roof of this room. This isn’t the finished job but at least it’s usable for the remaining two games. The kitchen wasn’t very “user friendly” so that has now become another job that we decided to take on. The fridge has been moved to another area making more space, the ceiling fixed and plastered and shelves put up with splash backs added. The whole kitchen will now be painted out.
The reason for showing this is a gentleman came down on Sunday to take a look at what we do, which then resulted in a substantial donation off him (he wishes to remain anon) as he said he was very impressed with what is done and the quality of the work. Which is always nice to hear….& the donation is very welcome. So just in case he does read this, thank you for your donation, as always it’ll be put to good use in & around the ground.

The finished job, it’s been enjoyable.

As well as the usual GMVers we’ve had some special help off a a variety of people. John Bucks for advice on some of the pictures, Ricky Wallbank for fitting the carpet, Graphix Signs for producing the pictures, Gary Wilson and Wayne Herbert for various fittings, Gareth for picking up and delivering the carpet plus many new hands helping to move & store the timber.
