Thanks Ian
Was great to hear from Chris, especially comparing his own experiences to that which our players will be going through.

Really good listen especially Chris Thompson.I think he could offer the club something in conditioning and training.Might not be a bad idea to take up his offer when he finally decides to call it a day.He may be a useful addition to the coaching staff having competed at such a high level.

Think you’ve mistaken what he was saying

He never said he’d like to get involved in coaching at barrow
He just wanted to observe a football training session to see how they deal with the fitness side of things.

He’s already training some upcoming athletic hopefuls

Thanks for clarifying that Adam.I probably jumped to that conclusion as he seemed to be that interested on linking up with Barrow to observe them in training. It may be of benefit to both parties as he could swap information on training in athletics and the club on football as there may be some synergy in both sports.

Another good listen and like Freya and Chris said it was not like Barrow that few moments of madness and hopefully normal service will be resumed against Swindon. We do need to perform better in the away games though.Hopefully with Canavan coming back our defence will be better and also Doncaster did us a favour last night by beating Wrexham 1-0.

If JT hasn’t suffered any set backs from his 90 min B team appearance recently then surely he will begin to feature from now onwards??

Canavan is super close to returning so these 2 will be a huge help defensively .

Episode 30 of The Barrow Social is out now on BBC Sounds

This week myself, Freya & Christopher are joined by Steve Herbert and Jonny Mangas

The plan was always to talk about the Ultras Days with Jonny and Steve playing an integral part of it - sadly at the end of last week news was received of the sad passing of the third piece of that Ultras Jigsaw Daz Boyle - so we couldn’t discuss those days without paying tribute to him as well.

We do find time to talk about the football as well.

Don’t forget to download and subscribe and we will catch you again next Monday

Sometimes the football pales into insignificance and this was one of those such occasions. With emotive words spoken about Daz in the latest podscast.
He always liked to be the joker in the pack but he was also the Ace of Hearts to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. A truly memorable guy for all the right reasons. Sadly now back with his beloved Becca sooner than any of us would have thought and getting a real rollicking no doubts.
Rest well Daz xxx :scarf:

Very well done all concerned in this week's episode. Handled an extremely difficult topic admirably. RIP Darren.

What a difference 3 games makes to the mood of the contributions. We are Barrow so we can do this.In Pete Wild I believe, just hope the team does and pushes right to the end and gets the result we all want.
