With 1 game left Pete still doesn't know his best starting line up on Saturday he will have a full squad with Ray now available, taking the dog for a walk while I try to work out my best starting line-up.

Bad night last night but at least we know your dog gets plenty of walks

Cant believe some of the negativity on here.Yes it is disappointing last six games we seem to have fizzled out despite being in play off place for ages.Pete Wild has given us a good season in comparison with how awful the two fighting against relegation have been.He has been manager of month more than once I think and is still learning his trade.We are not as some think a big club in this league our stadium limits big attendances and also limits large corporate events.We still need a board member to step up to replace Mark and we know as a trust how hard it is to get revenue The raffle fortunately plays big part of our share of funding.We have seen some very good football here this year and the team have provided hope excitement and maybe too much expectation for some supporters.I believe that Pete Wild will develop into a good manager at a higher level .Evatt is very good maybe being ex player at high level has helped him as well tho not always the case.We would only get max attendance here at moment if a premier team full strength paid a visit.Some clubs this league with higher attendances and funds have had worse seasons than us.We have no sugar daddy .We still have to compete with more fashionable clubs for players and league two budgets go up every season.I really think the post mortem of our season should be conducted at the end of it.For me Pete Wild is a breath of fresh air to this club particularly with engagement with fans.

Think we need Mansfield not to turn up. Seriously though we do need that little bit of luck everyone required at this time of the season plus a way to stop careless errors. We must stop trying to bet ourselves.

Pete Wilds inexperiece is showing hence the way we have performed.
The man is clearly under pressure and this sort if talk adds to it.

My choice would have been Nigel Clough but even he has failed to initially get Mansfield promoted.

If anyone would have said Barrow would have performed as we have prior to getting into the league we would have taken it

The fact we have struggled after such a good start is the disappointment.

Think Pete Wild knows we have under performed.

This year will show if he is learning his trade.

Certainly wouldn’t be sacking him but hopefully year 3 of the 3 year plan includes a genuine Plan B rather than just chucking different/more strikers on and hoping for the best. And if we are sticking with this formation we need proper wing backs rather than lads doing a job out of position, in this formation it’s such a key position and we don’t have a “proper” one on either wing

Unfortunately, the one 'proper' wingback we do have - Tiensia - has been injured for most of the season!

Whatever happens Saturday I'm sure after reflection Pete and his staff will need time to sort out what we as a club need in terms of formation new player's etc.
Ar last we're not down the bottom, the future is bright, we're growing the fan base, people are now wearing barrow shirts etc I personally think we're about 4 quality player's off being a top league 2 team.

Wildy, Temps and the team will be hurting the same if not more than us. Pete Wild is one of the most genuine and authentic guys you could meet and I’m proud he’s our manager under his stewardship he will make our club stable and stronger, success will follow just maybe not this year but fingers crossed. Well, I agree with much of what he has posted above and there's a lot of common sense in those comments, and also those of Blue Nige (especially your last sentence, Nige . . .)

Pedro is right to point out that our good start has created sky-high expectations which are now fostering massive bitterness and disappointment as we start to fall away (even though we do have one final chance to come). It's the hope that kills, and we've spent nearly all of this season with sky-high hopes. Overall though, looking at the bigger picture, I see massive strides forward under the leadership of PW and his team. Where were we only two short years ago? Surviving by the slenderest of margins. Now some seem to have the blade hovering over the wrist because it's possible we might only finish 8th this season.

But, quite rightly, there always has to be accountability so "good work and progress" should not be too soft a cushion for Wild to rest upon. He does now need to go and show that he can learn from what's been unfolding recently. I for one am more than happy to see him "get on with it" but, yes, of course he has to show us he can develop and grow as a manager.

This thread is premature as usual. At least wait until the weekend. If people want to give vent to their frustrations then fair enough. Perhaps we could hire a sound-proof room somewhere where we could go and scream and bounce off the padded walls.

Just one thought. This time last season we were all cock-a-hoop about finishing with the 5th best performance ever in our history. We finished with 62 points in 9th place. In an earlier thread I suggested that if you took that 62 point finish and averaged it over the last 10 seasons it would have actually been worth no higher than 12th place. It was a poor season.

So no matter what happens on Saturday, it is probable that we have had a better season than last and that this is in fact the fifth best season in our history. I know nobody wants to hear that right now. But it remains true.

Just try and keep that in mind when (like me) you try and cope with this truly painful soul destroying set of results. For those of you who are too young to have experienced this before, then you’ll begin to realise the pain that goes with being a life-long BAFC supporter.

Talk of replacing the manager is delusional. He’s more likely to be hunted than sacked. He asked for three years right from the start and that’s what he’ll get at the very minimum.
