Out of interest having never seen under it, what is space like in there if it was ever used for changing rooms?

Just a big empty space. When we used to have our workshop under there we actually found an area of tiling that must’ve been from the original shower room when it was a wooden stand.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Why not turn up one Sunday morning and you can take a look underneath the stand. You might get a paint brush stuck in your hand but you would find it interesting.

There was a tiled communal bath in there about 7ft x 7ft as l remember it; PJD will follow up with the exact dimensions shortly. Great work everyone an invaluable credit to the football club and to yourselves.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

That’ll be the one WG, it looked to be about that size.

GMV - very kindly sponsored by Dandy’s, Steve Leonard, Stu Rodgers, John Goodwin, Dandy’s & Surrey Barrovian.

It’s that time of year once again where we were looking for a couple of sponsors to help keep our kitty topped up which allows us to carry on with the many jobs & projects we currently have on the go around the ground. As is shown on the topic header we’ve had a great response with both old & new sponsors.

Once again, and after quite a few years of doing this Steve Leonard has again offered to help out. Stu Rodgers has also agreed to a donation as has John Goodwin (our retired commentator) on behalf of PKA. The other new sponsor (Surrey Barrovian) is a man who has helped us out several times in the past and has this year made a substantial donation to our account.

Many many thanks to all of the above sponsors and to those who still regularly make smaller donations to our account, it really is appreciated and allows us to take on projects that we might otherwise have to put on hold.

It’s worth mentioning that as well as the cash sponsors we get so much help that goes unnoticed off the NSC & businesses such as Graphix Signs, Rexel, Wards and others that wish to remain anonymous.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

A few pictures of one of the projects we’ve had going on over the summer, this one is a bit special to us as it has a personal connection to two of our busiest volunteers, Mike and Marion Else.
The corporate rooms haven’t had much done to them in the last four years so we decided to do a refurbishment on one - the Fred Else room. It was officially/unofficialy opened by Mike Else & Paul Hornby on Sunday (thanks Ian Allington for the pictures). Mike had no idea what we had been doing in there as we had kept him busy in the players families room, so this was thrown on him yesterday. I think it was fair to say he was equally as surprised as he was impressed by it.

Here’s how it was, others to follow.

Thanks to everyone who has helped on this (and for keeping Mike in the dark for over a month 😁)
Also many thanks to all our sponsors & supporters who have donated money to us, without this financial help none of this would be possible.

Brilliant work from the GMV you are all a credit to the Club, over the many years starting from our early NPL days we have had dedicated volunteers spending hours on helping the club and saving them thousands of pounds over the years, once again well done everyone.

Terrific!

Well done to all GMV and so pleased to see Fred Else marked in this way.
