How wonderful is this? And to keep it secret from Fred's son, Mike, until unveiling time was a marvelous idea! Great credit to all involved . . . I don't mind admitting that I found this quite moving, not just the work done but the way it was sprung on Mike as a surprise. He must be so proud that his Dad is so valued by our club.

We’re missing two or three volunteers tomorrow who like to do a bit of painting, if anyone would like to give us a couple of hours of their time it’d be a great help. One painting job is interior and the other is exterior but no real painting skills required for this one as it’s yellow hazard areas (edge of steps).
We’ll be there from 8:00am and a bite to eat & a brew will be provided during the morning.
If you were interested, it’s also an opportunity for you to have a look at some of the jobs/projects we have on the go at the moment.

Ideally could let us know either on here or through a pm, this would allow us to organise equipment & know who would be doing which jobs.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

This was just finished this morning, re-painted, LED lighting and a shirt theme rather than the mixture of pictures that were there previously. A huge thank you to Hadrian and his good lady for paying for a copy of the BAFC shirt history, which works perfectly in there.

Another summer job ticked off the list…..326 to go!

Was up at the ground today and was taken around and shown all the work done (and in other areas like the visitors dressing room that are almost complete). It is amazing what the volunteers have achieved over the last few months. Brilliant work.

Looks brilliant, well done everyone, am I right in thinking that way back in the 1980s that room used to be a squash court.

They were, you can still see the angled parts of the old squash courts through the areas that were plastered when the courts were removed.

Another summer project ticked off.

A couple of “before & after” of the disabled shelter, it never looked great with all the scaffolding in the way and the back was also open to the wind & rain coming in.

The scaffolding was totally removed and re-built with a smaller diameter tube with proper connectors and re-clad with the same cladding that’s being used on the new stands. Back also covered so completely wind and rain proof - with better views….and visually more pleasing.
