I think there’s clowns who have only started watching Barrow since promotion to the EFL, that’s what happens I guess.

Confirmed on the Carlisle Forum all Barrow games Cancelled in the Central League Cup.Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:13 amAye, seems to have gone backwards that. At some point the club will tell us we’ve withdrawn from the Central League Cup.
Still got the Lancs Cup to defend, mind.

Martyn Waghorn
Re: January Signings?
I was reading on a few other forums about the URGENT need to sign a striker in the January window, especially from Carlisle, Swindon and Harrogate. There will be a lot of competition from clubs with deeper pockets than us - what are our chances of getting one? Slim to none I reckon so we need to get the best out of what we've got.
Re: January Signings?
Or widen the net in the search. Hornby stated something along the lines of “we are not in the market for players towards the end of their career’s” well I’m sorry, not every player is a 21 year old potential “sell on asset”. The team needs a balance and sometimes tried and tested journeymen are needed to bring the best out of younger players and be leaders in the dressing room and on the pitch.liam2024 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 1:09 pm I was reading on a few other forums about the URGENT need to sign a striker in the January window, especially from Carlisle, Swindon and Harrogate. Re: January Signings?
Aye, we were debating on the way home from Walsall whether you’d go for a Calvin Andrew sort of signing or someone from a Champ/Prem u21 set up. Or one of each, if we can afford it….
Dunno.
Dunno.
Re: January Signings?
I think it’s a massive ask to place our goal scoring “drought fix” onto the shoulders of a young player who may be stepping into league football for the first time. The way we play, often with one up front looking to get on the end of Jackson / Newby balls from out wide, we need a battle scarred campaigner who doesn’t mind putting his head in where it hurts and going into an arial battle with an equally seasoned centre half. No long term future at the club but to steady the ship and help out the younger players (ie Garner / Acquah / Kouyate)

Re: January Signings?
Though our alledged "strikers" clearly aren't very prolific the supply to them is often pretty woeful. Even top class centre forwards need 2 or 3 decent chances just to score one, what can anyone expect when ours are getting a couple of half-chances at most per game.
