In, but he needs a result on Saturday plus a decent points return over the Christmas period. We need to be going into January with an improved buffer over the bottom.

I don't think we should be changing manager unless things are increasingly desperate with no way out, i.e Dunn, Jolley and Cooper. I don't believe we are quite at that stage yet, but we could well be in a couple of games' time if things don't improve. I think the board probably see it that way as well.

Back him or sack him. Bar a few decent games at the start we’ve carried on from where we left off last season conceding sloppy goals, individual errors and posing no threat upfront.
Recruitment was poor, we took a month into the pre season before Wild was confirmed as leaving and appointing Clemence.

Campbell and Spence need a good midfielder with them both are young and we lack physicality in there and someone to get their foot on the ball. Out wide and upfront we are hopeless which will always put pressure on the defence.

Jackson aside not one player who has come in has been an improvement. I’m including Vassell as he’s no better than Ray for me.

January needs to see a clear out and the right people brought in but easier said than done. This season will probably be a case of rebuild and hope the bottom two are considerably worse than we are…

Agree with pretty much all of this although IMO Vassell is slightly better than Ray and has some pace so is a better partner for Canavan.

I think the vast majority of fans are still backing Clemence and the side to get back on track but fans will need to play the part on Saturday. It will be a nervy atmosphere.

It’s a tough one but personally - in.

It’s a terrible run we’re on and it’s hard to see where the next win comes from when a team is in a rut like this, the confidence in the squad must be rock bottom. Why I say “in” at the moment is we can’t just keep sacking managers and starting again, then there is the - who would we get if SC does go?
I really hope for his sake, ours and the owners that he does turn it around, these upcoming games over the next two weeks are crucial….I’d hate to go into the NY in a similar situation.
Fleetwood, Tranmere & Harrogate must give us our best chances of a couple of wins.

I'm with Spirit, leaning towards IN but things have got to change pretty soon. You can only blame injuries, refereeing decisions and bad luck for so long. SC has nearly got all his players back to choose from and it's his job to get the best out of what is a decent squad imho. What would be disappointing for me if he got the push is he seems like a very decent guy whereas Cooper, Jolly, etc didn't appear to care less. Hope he turns around.

Clemence is faced with has the same goal scoring problems with the team that Wild had. It’s a rollover from last season with largely the same team. Don’t forget last season- Kian Spence with 7 in the league was our top goal scorer. I was concerned in summer that we weren’t bringing in a proven striker but looked at the squad and thought it might still come good for the players still here. So far it hasn’t worked, a defender is our current top scorer. That’s the issue.
Getting rid of Clemence would be a knee jerk reaction to this poor run and goal scoring issue and it won’t be solved overnight. Time needed to build will take more than one window. We’ve got to offload some players first and that may only happen in summer.

Hardly knee jerk from Henneysknee!
Stephen Clemence is simply not getting the best out of the players at his disposal except for early doors, the new coach bounce when he first arrived. We suffered a bit with injuries the tactics changed understandably. But it’s been dire stuff since.
He and his back room staff’s job is to get the best out of the players at their disposal they simply aren’t . It’s not just them Iain Wood has to shoulder responsibility too he knew the shortfalls from last season when Pete Wild left, have they been addressed …….. The short answer is No!
The board and Iain Wood spoke about giving us entertaining football pre season anyone being entertained……….. Well…….. I for one certainly isn’t the hunger has gone from the players.
Like I said earlier getting rid isn’t an easy option and one which our owners certainly won’t want to rush into.
But currently they are faced with a dilemma do we continue in the hope a corner can be turned under the current regime or do they entrust someone else to bring in the players when the transfer market opens again to hopefully instil some fight and appetite into the current squad.
Currently our line of trying to acquire saleable assets isn’t working. We need one or two more in there with a bit of nous that are streetwise and up for the fight and someone to actually start putting the ball into the net.
