January Signings?

I remember plenty of fans laughing at us when we signed George Ray and what a player he turned up to be for us. Cameron is out of contract at nots in the summer so I’d imagine he will be doing everything he can to get a good deal at club next season

Sometimes a player just needs to find the right club. I'd prefer to give the new lads a chance rather than than listeningto the chavs on socialmediaalreadysaying how crap they are. Cameron looks a better player than Stokes and we need reinforcements. I can't see a striker coming in unless a higher lever club wants to loan some out now or we go in with £££££ but almost every club is looking too!

Canavan is one of the best possibly the best centre back in the league, calm and composed never panics.
Stokes always seemed to have a mistake in him but it's hard not playing regularly and then coming in.
Cameron looked good on the ball I remember for Notts County but maybe there was question marks over his defending....let's judge him on how he does here. Physically he has the attributes that we need as does the other new boy Fletcher.

Too many times recently we've been outmuscled and bullied.

Couple forwards and a winger would be nice, and no more injuries. The main work I think will have to hold until summer as the January transfer window is a tough one to do good business in without spending a fortune.

It's a good job Ian Evatt didn't read about Scott Quigley or John Rooney they turned out to be 2 of our best signings who not only got us promotion but also kept us up !.
I always like to give player's a chance THEN judge let's just get behind our new signings and get up the league!

I agree that Stokes wasn't good enough but I don't think his performances were any worse than those of Telford, Garner, Kouyate, Kirk, Dallas and Mahoney which doesn't say much for any of them!

Dallas was very good against Bradford and he hast been given that many chances. Would like to see him start more with Aquaman because I think there are goals in that partnership. Would like to see them being smarter and running the diagonals from set pieces, sometimes feel.they are too flat. Aquaman heading for back post, Dallas concentrating on front post. Running the diagonal, they can see the path of the ball and adjust, they can confuse the defence with the rest of the team in the box causing confusion with plenty of movement. Telford and Garner just not taken to their roles with us simple as that. Stokes didn't really get a fair shot but he wasn't a complete disaster imo. Kouyate I'm still on the fence a bit, he's still learning so again, is there a star in him? Mahoney needs a good run before he's slaughtered on here..
Two signings so far are potentially promising.. wonder if either of them have the [SwearFilter] to be leaders because that's what we have been missing. Canavans absence has been a big hit!! It's ok giving farman captaincy but I think a midfield general or a center half should be bossing the team. Again, that's only my opinion.

Dallas and Acquah are our best options up front. Telford and Garner offered little when they came on and they need to move on to resurrect their careers. That would free up some budget to hopefully bring in another forward. I can’t see us bringing in another forward unless one or both of Telford or Garner are released.

Never like goalkeepers being captains. I certainly think it's affected Farman's performances. What it does tell us that their are lack of leaders on the pitch when a keepers becomes captains.

I'd give it to gotts at the moment farman isn't concentrating and that second goal against Bradford was his fault he tripped up our player as he was about to to clear it .

Gotts was MOM for me the other day, not sure how the sponsors came up with Dallas…must’ve been too many NY beers.

We lack a bit of leadership all over really when Canavan is out, we’re very quiet. Farman is vocal but as a keeper it’s a hard role. Not sure it makes a big difference who wears the band we just need to communicate more and hopefully get another couple of experienced heads in.

I also remembered fans lording Telford signing, that's turned out well so far. Point is let's see how these signings play before we can make any form of judgement.

Too many players been given too many chances and not taken them, Kirk, Telford, Garner & after the way Mahoney bottled the 1 on 1 with Bradfords keeper the other day he can join the list of players we need shot of asap. Thats never going to be easy when they’re on contract but at the moment they’re a drain on our wage bill for very little return.
Dallas isn’t the most lethal in front of goal but he gives 100% all the time. Acquah isn’t fantastic but is deserving of his place with what we have available, these two should be our first choice strikers.
Ideally it’d be nice if we could loan out some of the players who don’t look interested and pull in a wide player & a striker. Two rumours doing the rounds are Spence going to a L1 club for player + cash deal and the other, a winger from the NL.

Back to the captaincy, surely there has to be a better option in that team than having your keeper take that role. Vassell for one, hopefully he’s ok to play today.

Imho, Spence is decent but not L1 material, too lightweight........regarding the captain surely Foley should take that on, has been very consistent when he's played.
