Sloppy, sloppy defending from Mahoney.
Don't let the old man in.
Re: Chesterfield FC V Barrow AFC (A) match thread
Shocking goal to concede, Mahoney the culprit this time but both he and Jackson have been playing themselves into trouble in our right back position.
Popular side since '03.

1 nil to chesterfield Connor Mahoney caught in possession shocking!, then the guy is unmarked but think it deflects off Foley really poor goal to concede, but we're inviting pressure the way we are set up !
Re: Chesterfield FC V Barrow AFC (A) match thread
I understand the Mahoney criticism but even once it came in how has Stanway let that go in - was it deflected?
Re: Chesterfield FC V Barrow AFC (A) match thread
Much hard work undone by sloppiness and switching off.

All that good work through the half undone with lazy defending. More than once we have fiddled about on that right-hand side, Jackson and Mahoney being the culprits. Just trying to be too clever.
Don't let the old man in.

Good shape for most of the half but causing our own problems. Struggling in possession. Our passing accuracy at 66% to their 88% ..

Re: Chesterfield FC V Barrow AFC (A) match thread
We have had a few nice moves. The times when we have been successful in our history has been when we have had an arrogance about ourselves. The language around the start of the season has very much been about us being the underdog. It’s that kind of mentality throughout the club and the town which has always been associated with us struggling.
We have had some nice moves going forward but I’m not keen on this let them dictate play [SwearFilter] around at the back nonsense.
It’s chesterfield we are playing not Barcelona

The more I see it, even after Mahoney's error the goalscorer had waaaaayyy too much time and space in the box.
Don't let the old man in.

I know mahoney is seen as a game changer player and we might only be 45 mins into the season but I've seen nothing to change my mind from last season. He will cost us more points than he'll gain for us.

Far too many stray passes with the ball given away in the first half.
