Massive credit to Shipley. He made three or four shocking passes 'playing out from the back' in the first half where possession was given to the opposition. He more than made up for it with our second goal. He showed he has a pair and displayed immense bravery executing that header. Brilliant goal.

A win’s a win, BUT….and I’m only going off the very tail end of the BBCRC commentary and the immediate summary and it sounds very much like a smash and grab and better finishing and Colchester would have put us to the sword today.

Let’s hope this win gives them belief because right now I don't think this side has shown any signs of gelling.

We have played Colchester 11 times now since getting back into the football league.
We have won 5, Drawn 5 and lost once.
Now that's a real bogey team performance.

Agree on the Shipley goal. It was very brave. He seems to zero in on the goal whenever he gets near the opposition box.

I’m not going to be too hard on the performance. We have the potential to be better than we are. But we are not at all there yet. 3 away points in the circumstances is a pure bonus.

Incidentally, no post match from Whing on the club's Youtube yet. Was there an interview with Adam on Radio C as they concentrated on the Carlisle pre match?

Says MJ and Hemmings not too far off. Didn’t give any info on the others.

Says possible one more signing. Full back I hope but he wasn’t asked or didn’t say which position.

If we get back to back home wins now, things will be looking pretty good .. I think there is a team in there that can push on , but we just need the personnel to be able to switch it up when we need to.

It certainly was an interview from a player happy to play for both Barrow and Andy Whing. The lad is only 21 and will make mistakes. On saying that I’ve seen enough from him that makes me think his hard tackling and never say die attitude will make him a fans favourite

Great 3 points today despite a very defensive performance full of poor quality football! Can't see any of the "doom and gloom" merchants posting tonight though...............I'm hoping that they've realised that impressively turning over Notts County, followed by a shocking loss against Harrogate followed by a smash n grab win today could be the norm this season. Just listened to Shipley's interview and was really impressed with his never say die attitude,the way he is nor afraid to go for the ball even if he is putting himself in danger and lastly his enthusiasm to play for Andy Whing and Barrow.I ust hope his way of playing rubs off on some of the other players.
The team is not that far away from being the finished article and the more they play together the better they will become

I think we play Fleetwood next and it will be Pete Wild's first return to Holker St.I just hope people will give him a warm welcome but also send his team back on the wrong side of the result.
