If they were around during the French Revolution they would be selling seats at Madam Guillotine.
I am not very happy with what's happening and Whing is struggling .
What is British is giving someone a fair chance and six games is to early.
Wild was given the boot over disagreements.
Anyone who should go is whoever recruiting our players including Gardner.
So you want to get rid of the guy who has been more than instrumental in establishing us as a league two club. The guy who brought in Pete Wild. The guy who negotiated with FC United and has helped build a training ground in a location that has been more than instrumental in helping us recruit players that have allowed us to compete in league 2. The likes of Campbell, Spence and others including Aquah who we made money on Ben Whitfield who on more than one occasion has mentioned that after speaking to Woodsy he wanted to come back
Yes he has not got everything right but by god we would be in a far worse position both on the field had we not recruited him when we did
Those calling for his head be very very careful what you wish for and oh I don’t see anyone coming forward with a name of somebody to take over his role and take over the current responsibilities he has
Think you will find the guy concerned was not part of promotion to L2 was he here then?
Campbell ,Spence how much did we receive in transfer fees?
Knowing they were going to leave there does not seem much forward planning
Aquah well he was signed by Pressley who makes Paul Simpson sound interesting.
So he brought in Campbell,Pete Wild brought Spence .
I would call his dealings abysmal.
Er don't need a Director of Football or is it mandatory?

You can like Andy Whing and still answer the question you know. Because people rate Pete Wild higher at this moment in time doesn’t mean we want Whing sacked. If the question was Jurgen Klopp or Whing and we answered Klopp would that mean we want Whing gone?

If the question was which manager would you rather have when playing 80 minutes with 10 men and losing your captain on the pitch at the same time, it would clearly depend on which manager was on the right end of the decision. Just for the record, Fleetwood did make a operating loss in excess of £9m last season and despite indications very much to the contrary have a very decent budget for this season season. Ched Evans does not come cheap. I wonder where that dosh came from?

So Fleetwood are still better funded than we are and thus have a better squad and proved that if if they play with an extra man for the vast majority of a game they will most probably win. And we are supposed to infer from it that this is indelible proof that Pete Wild is a better manager than Andy Whing (or that Ian Wood is a force for evil).

I apologise for wasting my time on this response.

We can't really judge Whing till he has a full squad ( Xmas 😂 ), so only then after a few games together will we know, personally I think when they're all back we'll be OK BUT he will really have to make sure everyone is in their true position not just of who they are !

Would like to agree but can’t see us having anywhere near a full squad to chose from all season. He’ll have to work with who is fit at the time.

Nothing against Whing but I didn't want Pete to leave and I definitely would choose him over the ex-agent for selecting footballers. I really, really don't like anyone other than a manager selecting who should be at the club.

I agree with this. Not only that but the circumstances in which Wild left, we lost a month in terms of recruitment and selecting a new manager as by the time Wild was confirmed as gone and Clemence came, we were playing catch-up. The promise of more attacking football and goals from Clemence didn’t materialise and I believe Whing was also a target at the time but Wood went for Clemence.
Either way you have to say it was wrong to get rid of Wild and then to appoint Clemence.

Yes we dipped massively at the end of his tenure but so did Crewe under Lee Bell, and Walsall last season under Matt Saddler but both stayed on and Crewe had another decent season last time.

I’d say there’s similarities in set up although I think Wild got more out of the players and his personality helped, but he was also stubborn and rigid in his tactics. Playing 3-5-2 without proper wingbacks and for a large part playing Tyrell Warren there and then Luca Stephenson who although a great player, was never a wingback. Still early days for Whing but he needs to sort this form as once you’re in a rut it becomes harder and harder to get out of. I don’t think injuries have helped but it’s the balance and shape of the team which looks not right and not helped by playing people out of position. Find a style that suits what you have rather than trying to force players into something else. Also his recruitment so far has been dubious to say the least.

Pretty sure it was confirmed by Hornby that Clemence was selected because Whing was still involved in the NL Playoffs with Solihull so his appointment would have been even later.
Popular side since '03.

I honestly do not understand the unnecessary vitriol towards Ian Wood, I understand the frustration, we are all frustrated with the start to the season, injuries etc. but, what we have to accept and this is irrespective of whether we shouldn’t be calling ourselves little old barra’, we are a very small EFL club in terms of fan base, revenue, and financial backing. IW is working within the budget parameters that the owners allow him to, sensibly in my opinion and knowing what has happened to our club previously and many other more recently. We have to accept that without HUGE investment as Chairman Hornby has illustrated, we are where we are…surviving. Signing injury-prone players or aging players or returning players is all we can do as that is our current “level” of operating clearly. Let’s show our support regardless and help the team through this clearly sticky period and hopefully we will be at worst the 3rd worst team in EFL2 and can try again next year.

PATHETIC THREAD…..FFS we have so far played fancied clubs & financially backed clubs with a virtually new side & while carrying more than our fair share of injuries, Give Whing time to mold the team, Yes it’s been too negative but that’s probably down to injuries & new lads not gelling instantly.

That’s the problem with stats. They can be interpreted in many ways. Next week the stats may suggest something different.

Wild is Wild and Whing is Whing.

But I agree with the point regarding the funds seemingly still available to Wild at Fleetwood. They should be performing better. Wild may now be entering that phase of the job that ultimately ended his time with us. A bad run that couldn’t be corrected combined with an expectation that he wasn’t able to meet. But he may turn that around and tbh that’s Fleetwood’s problem.
